I know this is tough for someone not from New York, but don’t drive to New York if you can help it. Driving in ny is actually not normal. People don’t drive here because there are literally 20 million people in the city every day. That’s bigger than 2/3 of the COUNTRIES in the world. In a small land mass. Take the bus or train - it’s faster and will save you money and aggravation. There’s a reason you always see pictures of celebrities on the subway.

You know now that I tried it once I will take another way next time. Your words make sense.

Live in Connecticut and drive in all the time, only on Saturday's though. No tolls using the east river crossings and plenty of 6 hour street parking around the Grand Central Library area and pay $11-$14 for 3 hours or so. About and hour each way with the only traffic I usually hit is in Connecticut!

The next stop for Connecticut trains is literally manhattan sorry but you can’t justify driving under any scenario this ain’t Atlanta or some other transit challenged city. The train gets in from Stanford in 30 minutes

That is how bad transit is in queens. After Stamford the next stop is Harlem check the schedule on the express trains. Yes I drop $$ on LIRR for ass
It's 30-40 minutes driving after 6pm which is perfect since parking is free at 7pm. I seem to get extra attention + time at that time anyways.

I have no problem driving, I do it for a living. That's how I justify it. And it's longer that 30 minutes from Stamford, did it many times going to Ranger and Yankee games.

Yeah it’s much closer to 45-50 from Stamford assuming you get the express. Still an easy ride though - not worth even the risk of aggravation you get from traffic.
