I’ve been working (actually working, mongering on the side, lol) in the hoods of Newark for about 25 years, never had a problem. I’ve been to the projects and crack houses in my line of work.
This is on a main road, in a well maintained building. I’ve been to Mott (too many times), recently walked out on Oliver, been to VIP, anyone remember eastern parkway?, even picked up SW’s back in the day all over the bricks.
This is way safer than a short stay at the Seville. Uncle LEO isn’t paying any attention to you, and it would be bad business for Tony to mug someone when he’s trying to make some real money. Afterward, you can get a couple dirty water dogs in branch brook ( I prefer Chris’ on heller) or go all out with an Italian hot dog at dickie dees.
