I think it’s a fair question, I’ve been in the hobby on and off 10 years, I think I’ve been to one LMP. And the prices were much higher than standard AMPs

Prroooobably. But LMPs are few and far between compared to AMPs, so those new to the hobby or returning from a hiatus may have no idea what standard prices are at LMPs.
