There is no hard and fast rules for tipping.

Myself, I find taking care of business up front along with the usual extra tip beyond the old standard of 160, has always works best for me. Knowing that is out of the way mentally allows me to get into the session without having to pause and talk more business just when I am getting into my happy place. I know it is a business transaction but there is a freedom for me to know that the details have been worked out ahead of time. Yes, there have been a couple of times (I can count one with just 1 hand) where tipping up front, that have backfired on me. My batting average for very solid sessions, I feel, has been much higher when I tip extra up front.

That said, I know there are also plenty of other guys who feel making them work for the tip before giving them "it" works best for them. So doing whatever works best for you is what you should do....Peace (y)

I’ve only been mongering for about 20 years, and the first few years it was only a couple known AMP spots locally and international random encounters. I didn’t know much and didn’t have anyone to confer with. I’ve never paid less that $$. Some of you maybe think I’m stupid, but I didn’t know better. I thought that was going rate in the Philly area, not being on any sites until recently. A couple blvd hotel undies were 1.6. I dont take my wallet (for fear of overspending). NYC was my only reference and I remember 10 years ago being like “Wow, it’s cheap in Philly”. Not sure that advances this convo, but wanted to share.

All that said I still like to settle the payment upfront. That tactic burned me a couple times (at established places more than one-shots) but most of the time I enjoy a more stress-free session and feel it shows some trust with the provider. Rates are up a little and services aren’t NYC level, but I still do that. Just saying I’m not think how my tendency affects others. It’s just if figured out for myself and what I do/can afford.
