So what are your recommendations on how we should change our behavior to avoid this situation?
Well, I’d say to encourage the management (of whatever place/s you visit) to screen new clients.. I imagine if I intend to rob the place, I don’t want that place to have a picture of my id. Other screening measures would be obstacles for such people.
Also, talk to your providers, ask them how often something like this has happened.. you’d be surprised at how often it happens, and they usually have very specific ideas of making things better at their particular place too.
I’ve also heard some places operate with a certain security (like a bouncer), although I think it’s mostly a family member, not someone whose paid.. and they can be used to protect the providers too.
I don’t know.. any other ideas?
PS I haven’t looked that much into changing my behavior because For me, personally, I’m not going to visit these places anymore.. which is a decision that’s been a long time in the making but after this last experience, I’m certain I’m not helping anything by this hobby. Now, of course, I have no intention of convincing anyone else to reach my conclusion, I’m just explaining my side of it..
