I'm sure this might sound silly to some of you, but I'm hesitant to ask providers for references. Went to set up a session with someone new and they said they wouldn't do it without a reference. But asking some providers for a reference seems strange to me, like "hey I like you but want to see someone else, tell them I'm cool!"?
