I'm taking a guess but I would think the supply side of things is changing. New ladies coming into the market due to bad times, older touring ladies coming back because margins are better in NYC now (cheap hotels), and others maybe never toured but see the potential in NYC between cheap hotels and high donation; all need to make moves to make money. Most people have been in a bad spot since COVID started back in March. I don't count the stimulus and unemployment as real remedies for most people's regular expenses. Most were already spending beyond their means and often they are over leveraged, the ladies in this biz are especially susceptible to this behavior. Ladies from other areas probably would have come here months ago but couldn't due to travel restrictions. Those have mostly gone away for one reasons or another or in many cases no one cares to follow the rules anymore. So it's likely that many of the new faces we are seeing have actually been doing this elsewhere for a while or maybe even newly entered into the market due to lack of funds back home. This happened during the crash around 08-13. Just my thought, I have no hard data/stats to back it up.
What I'm thinking is happening is that ladies are just saying f' it and heading to NYC, or any big city for that matter, all while the hotel rates are dirt cheap. Just google hotel rates and you'll see how crazy it is. Use to be anything below 200 was rare, right now I'm seeing very little above 200, in most cases it's less than 150, many even below 100. So any lady that toured in the past would be smart to come here now while the rooms are cheap. Word is likely spreading faster due to social media, IG and OF, so the uptick is faster than what I saw in 08-13. From what I remember it took a year or two for ladies to flood the NYC market back then. So all of the above is just increasing supply in our area. Ladies are able undercut each other but they are also able to do so even more than in the past due to the drop in hotel rates. Ladies don't have to worry about covering a 300-500 a night rooms. They can grab plenty of $75 rooms and only need to see one client to cover daily expenses and still come away with a decent amount in their pockets. These are just a few factors, I'm sure their are others that I'm not thinking about or simply don't have the visibility into.
