Just wanted to put this out there as I'm not sure if I'm just seeing things. I've noticed a down tick in rates mostly from touring ladies coming to NYC. This is only in the past week, for those reading this in the future its the first week of November 2020 right now. Is anyone else noticing an increasing in visiting ladies in NYC and a down turn in rates? I'm mostly looking at Eros, Slixa and Tryst. It didn't catch my eye until this week and to be honest I really haven't been paying much attention since August or early September. Just looking for thoughts on this. If you feel I'm just seeing things and I'm completely off please let me know and I will shut up and go back to my new and less expensive hobbies.

Thanks in advance.

I wasn't really pointing to any specific provider lowering her rate. If that's what you're asking for. Although I've seen a few do that in clever ways, ex posting new or reconfiguring multi hour rates and having rates for regulars, although these have been few and far between. I was more talking in general. For instance I recall flipping through those ad sites in September and prior and noticed that the trend was already heading up. 300hr ladies add all but disappeared, 400-500hr was becoming the new floor but also rare and ladies were mostly split between those that charged about 600hr and those that charged 1000hr+. I seeing fewer 1000hr plus and more like 800s also more 400s. It's also more visiting ladies overall, many new faces. At least I feeling like that's what I'm seeing but I could be wrong. Which is why I wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone else was noticing the same.

Just curious. What factors do you think cause them to change in prices? Economy?

I'm taking a guess but I would think the supply side of things is changing. New ladies coming into the market due to bad times, older touring ladies coming back because margins are better in NYC now (cheap hotels), and others maybe never toured but see the potential in NYC between cheap hotels and high donation; all need to make moves to make money. Most people have been in a bad spot since COVID started back in March. I don't count the stimulus and unemployment as real remedies for most people's regular expenses. Most were already spending beyond their means and often they are over leveraged, the ladies in this biz are especially susceptible to this behavior. Ladies from other areas probably would have come here months ago but couldn't due to travel restrictions. Those have mostly gone away for one reasons or another or in many cases no one cares to follow the rules anymore. So it's likely that many of the new faces we are seeing have actually been doing this elsewhere for a while or maybe even newly entered into the market due to lack of funds back home. This happened during the crash around 08-13. Just my thought, I have no hard data/stats to back it up.

What I'm thinking is happening is that ladies are just saying f' it and heading to NYC, or any big city for that matter, all while the hotel rates are dirt cheap. Just google hotel rates and you'll see how crazy it is. Use to be anything below 200 was rare, right now I'm seeing very little above 200, in most cases it's less than 150, many even below 100. So any lady that toured in the past would be smart to come here now while the rooms are cheap. Word is likely spreading faster due to social media, IG and OF, so the uptick is faster than what I saw in 08-13. From what I remember it took a year or two for ladies to flood the NYC market back then. So all of the above is just increasing supply in our area. Ladies are able undercut each other but they are also able to do so even more than in the past due to the drop in hotel rates. Ladies don't have to worry about covering a 300-500 a night rooms. They can grab plenty of $75 rooms and only need to see one client to cover daily expenses and still come away with a decent amount in their pockets. These are just a few factors, I'm sure their are others that I'm not thinking about or simply don't have the visibility into.

Demand down to. People like myself that don't want to get exposed to COVID or accidentally expose anyone else to COVID.

Also, probably a lot of husbands in professional fields now stuck at home without a legitimate excuse to leave the house. Not sure if this was a big driver of demand but all corporate internships this year were virtual, all the new hires at the big banks were virtual, so no horny 21 or 22 year olds in the city this summer.

Yeah great points. I forget that much of the business is catering to middle aged suburban husbands looking for good time during lunch or after work. With all of them stuck at home that business is gone for a while.

You just listed my situation stuck at home ( married) and have cut back from 6-7 times a month to twice.

I fully agree with your assessment, I do want to add, Manhattan is the hardest hit, because there is so much office space , some are empty because they closed down and others are empty because they work from home, I have 2 friends that are in financial sector, both work from home for the bank through zoom. Also there is no tourist coming, most stores are shut down, so its really a ghost town, and its not getting better. Where other boroughs there is still people around they go to work, some small businesses are open, and there are more people living actually in the buildings. If you notice the cheapest rates on high end hotels are now in Manhattan around time Square area and downtown by Wall Street, going rate is $80-90 a night.

Yeah, no office workers this year either. Lot of guys here write about "slipping out of the office" for the hour - never saw how that was feasible but apparently that was a driver of business. I always went after work.

I took a hiatus from mongering in the spring due to Covid. Many other guys did the same. Now with COVID coming back with a vengeance thinking of takin more time off as will others. This will affect the balance being discussed .

I used to be a 5 minute walk from one of my go to incall places. So used to do lunchtime nooners quite a bit with that one.

Honestly I am seeing higher rates with 3 of the agencies I use regularly.
2 have higher rates across the board, and one is letting some of their younger girls up their hourly rates.
Goes against the theory of supply and demand. Seems to be an effort/scramble to make up for lost income.
As the economy gets crappier, I suppose this may eventually come down. But I'm not holding my breath.

Elasticity/Inelasticity of demand. Customer segmentation. If these women are smart they recognize that they have to customer segments - the guys that can no longer come no matter what (stuck at home, worried about COVID, left the city) and therefore won't be attracted by discounts (unless they're really deep) and another custom segment that is bored, horny and probably willing to pay a little more. Women can raise prices and still get the latter. Reducing prices won't help them bring the former customers back.
