I really enjoy Hide-Chan on East 52nd (it's pronounced "he-day chan"). Also enjoy Ippudo, but the wait is always crazy. For a quick lunch, I will sometimes go Nishida Sho-ten on E49th. The noodles are okay, but the pork belly is so tender.

There are a ton of spots around the city. You just have to try them all.

I love Nishida Sho-ten.

After 1am, you will see several Japanese Piano Bar girls have ramen at this place.

My 2 favorites are:
Super casual: Kambi on 14th and 1st
Nice : https://ippudony.com/
Kambi is closed. That was the sister shop of Minca, the original ramen joint, and one of the first in the city. I have been eating there for 15 years and it's the only ramen bowl I eat now after trying a lot of other places. I recommend the thick noodle bowl - either the Basic or Shoyu. The gyoza are also very good.

There is one I used to visit whenever I went to Venus Touch
Third Ave around 35 or 36 street (on east side of street.)
Can't think of the name but good ramen and great fried guyozo.
with cold draft Sapporo on tap, perfect combo!

If you’re interested in Korean Ramen check out Jeju Noodle Bar. The broth is really thick here and very good. Actually got a Michelin star this year. Easily one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve ever had. Ippudo is also a very solid choice.

Downscale: Totto Ramen is awesome. If you’re alone, you can usually get seated quickly at the counter even when there’s a line.

Upscale: Ippudo is excellent. Also good chance of early seating if alone.

Teppen Ramen is my go to because it's a block down from NYAW
It's my tradition to get Teppen after a session
Best in NYC though is ichiran
Totto does too much with their ramen and Ippudo is just aight
