Can someone please explain to me this scam. I have two providers telling me to pick up an eBay gift card before I visit them. They say they will not except cash due to security reasons but will except a gift card. Just how are they planning to scam me?

I think they do it because sometimes you can’t use cash. I dealt with someone in the past that wanted Visa gift cards. She used it for food, Uber, and other things

All scams.
The moment you text them pics of those cards, they'd add the money to their account and you won't be able to reach them again. And they ask for store specific card because there is no trail left.

Thanks. I’m sure you are right! First these two providers advertised on BP which I do not trust. Then after asking me where I live stated that the just happened to be at a hotel very close to me. There photos also look to good to be true at 200/hr. They both asked that I go to a 7-eleven to purchase a $200 eBay gift card. I hope no one falls for this scam.

I’ve thought about purchasing cards for my own personal use. Once it’s depleted if I come across a provider running this scam I would send them the info for the empty card just to see how they would react. Probably not worth the effort but would be somewhat amusing.
Those are smart Johns, there is no provider. They'd immediately find that the card is empty and ask you to reload or buy another one.

Wait until you get the folks that tell you they are from the cartel Jalisco and that you must pay" a fee that has been implanted on you for wasting my girls time...."

Hopefully you have a burner phone or app with a bogus number. The first time I got that message I got nervous because it coincided with a bullshit STG encounter where after a long time I finally meet the girl and I could tell she was strung out or something. I just left.
Now when I get those messages I've offered to come and pay in person. They've stopped fucking with me

Yes. When I first got the text it freaked me out at first. But than I realized I used Google Voice and did not give out my real address. Why are people trying to fuck with our hobby? All we want to do is have some fun.
