Not trying to be an alarmist or a pessimist, but I think that comes with the territory these days.

Any thoughts about what the post-Corona AMP scene in and around Philly is going to look like? I gotta think that it is going to be very different - the hands-off attitude by LE and officials that has ruled here for a long time is going to have to change, at least for the next few years. I think this is going to have a drastic impact on the hobby.

Agree or disagree?

If there is a quick easy test (similar to pregnancy test) two people will take a test in front of each other, if they both come up negative, business as usual. If one or the other comes up positive, you will walk out either way (I hope)

I'm concerned that tracking apps will gain traction, especially if we go through at least one cycle of lock-down, open up, then lock-down again when cases spike. The combination of not being able to work without it and people not wanting to do business with you if you don't have a green indicator on your phone might drive the adoption - or, you know, people not wanting to die and/or kill their friends and family. Regardless, if things go that way, wandering around anonymously under the radar to monger is going to get very very complicated.

There are a few end-game possibilities as far as coronavirus goes -- vaccine, herd immunity, mutation to a less lethal infection. All will take some time. But even then, I think there is going to be a long-lasting impact from this. You don't put the entire country in lockdown, put them in masks & gloves, tell them to wipe everything they touch with Lysol, and hammer away that getting closer than 6 feet to anybody could be a death sentence -- and then go back to business as usual. We've scared the shit out of everybody, and people don't unscare easily. Rightly or wrongly, they're going to see things differently in the months and years ahead than they did in the past. I hope I'm wrong, but I think one of the things they're going to start with is unlicensed MPs, especially MPs that specialize in employees coming from Asia. And greasing the palms of LE and officials won't be enough to overcome this new fear.

Things snapping back to the old normal may depend on whether a second wave of virus happens? If this isolation model becomes cyclical then we will see some radical changes in our world possibly. Economically, socially, politically.

And there is a fair chance of some secondary waves of infection. Ultimately, I believe when push comes to shove, economics will win over health concerns by the general population. As evidence, I present the initial run on grocery stores where people binge bought. Thinking of themselves, not the general welfare of others.

If nothing else the run on toilet paper confirmed my suspicion that most people don't know their ass from a hole in the ground

I grew up without cel phones, so I'm more often than not without one. For instance, the recommendation was to NOT take your filthy cel phone into the grocery store when you go shopping, but typically I leave it in the car anyway. So I would have to force myself to carry a cel phone at all times. No problem for today's generation who seem to have grown up with phones glued to their hands, but for us old-timers, it would be something new to adapt to.

Let's determine the risk probabilities of catching CV19.

Grocery store. Ave Shopping time 30 mins. 100 people in the store. Store open 10 hours. 2000 people in the store for 1 day. Shared shopping carts. People physically touching all kinds of items, milk, meats, opening doors to refrigerated coolers and freezers. 10 checkout lanes for all 2000 people. 99% of things touched aren't getting washed or disinfected during the day. Trust me you don't want to do the math for a Wal*Mart.

AMP. Each lady sees 4-8 Customers per day. You undress and dress yourself. New towels. Full body wash in between customers. The lady washes herself usually after the shower. She doesn't touch the cash until the end. Clean towels. Customers don't have to interact with anyone before going to the AMP. Mouthwash is provided. CV19 is a lung respiratory disease and she isn't paying any attention to that organ. I can kiss her other lips, a queef won't infect me.

My advice is don't go to the AMP after shopping. An AMP seems much safer then taking cash back from the cashier at the supermarket.

Whatever you left at the AMP most likely is deposited in a self-contain sterile throw away PPE system.

What could be interesting is if they do return to normal and you get covid, then they want to do contact tracing........
If you are being tracked that could be an issue. But, if we are not being tracked i.e. monitored via an app, if they ask, all of us are in contact with many in a few different locations every day.

In any event, it will be different for sure.

one slight cough from the AMP provider and you've got it, assuming she has it. The grocery store might be safer if you wear a mask, sanitize your hands often and don't touch your face at all till you get a good hand wash.
