Phone Text message secrecy

Hey - i don’t feel like getting a new burner phone for my habit. Is there a web based solution for this - can i text someone online? Or is there an app for iPhone where i can send texts and have it not bow up in message app? I have WhatsApp and we chat but i feel like those are less controllable than my phone where at least i know how to make my text messages not show up on home screen. Any thoughts?

Check out Burner. It is subscription based but a great option if you don’t have the ability to spring for multiple devices and lines.

Thanks. It’s not even so much I’m afraid of giving my number out I’m just wondering if there’s a secret app that i can assign certain numbers to so that my message app won’t ever see these texts. With what’s app etc the other party has to also be a member. Seems weird to me that there isn’t a message app that i can assign certain numbers to only be accessible through that app.

TextNow seems to fit the bill thanks! It gives you a new number which i don’t necesssrily require but it works well.

Anything you use on your normal phone can be traced back to that phone - just saying. I can't understand anyones resistance to a burn phone. A different app on your normal phone will still get you burned if you have an SO or GF to worry about. If you don't than who cares. I just like to keep things separate. Just me.

Even if I had no wife theres no way with work and personal relationships I'd have these shops/girls texting/calling my everyday phone. I think the veriouse apps are good if again, you have nobody monitoring the phone but you and you can turn off the app from bothering you. There has been many threads on this subject on many boards.

Don’t overthink this. Buy a burner phone. They are sold at Walmart and Walgreens for under $20. Total anonymity. Refill with minutes as you go along. And when you are done with the hobby, just toss it.
Don’t use your Personal phone as there will always be a record of your texts.

true. anything can be traced back to anything really. but a text app keeps it separate just in case, on a personal level. i'm trying textnow - pretty good
