so, I contacted an independent on STG, and she gave me her location, told me her room # and said when I get there to let her know and she'd unlock the door that I should just walk in. never met her before, and only contacted her via text, just felt weird to me, like something LE would do.. just sit in the room, wait for someone to walk in just so they can arrest them. Was I in the right being "paranoid"?

Yes I’ve already been asked to just come in once letting them know I’m there. She was still getting ready. Actually happened on more than one occasion.
Easy to understand the paranoia for a lot of reasons.

It's happened a couple of times for me. Mostly because of the knocking. If she knows I'm on the way she can leave the door ajar and just walk right in. Never really thought that it would be a sting. Especially since just walking into a room is not against the law.

Having seen many providers at hotels in past years I found the ‘smart’ ones had you call for the room number from the parking lot. Upon arrival to door to find it slightly ajar. To knock was definitely a no-no. They usually would get rooms away from heavy traffic or near a exit door.

I don’t want to advertise real numbers here but II’ll say that my experiences are 10-for-10 in line with what Robpa20 described. At first I thought ‘how would you know it’s me opening the door’, but really it is a matter of two or three minutes from parking lot to door, what are the odds a random person would try that door handle, so I get it. Also thought it was possibly some legal procedural protection for the host of the appointment, like ‘the client just walked in’. But I’m probably overthinking it… I have no thoughts to question what works.

There used to be a consensus that you should grab her by the pussy... I know. It's fallen into disfavor. But if the provider doesn't want to be touched then something is worrying. With a new provider I used to cup a feel while getting a good kiss. If she balks it's a sting. YMMV obviously.
