Grand when translated to the nearest similar words in Mandarin mean lofty, conspicuous, prosperous, unrestrained, etc.. Every day can be grand, every day we are open is a grand day, a grand opening.
But even knowing this is really a semantic issue, I fall for it every grand time and hope it is a new place, with new and vivacious practitioners, where serious mysteries to be discovered, and all of my wants will be solved.
