Question for folks with more experience on the indie scene. I've mostly done agencies/AMPs, but looking to expand my horizons. A few times recently I've reached out to an Indie and never heard anything back. Ok, maybe they've stopped providing or are very busy, whatever. But the latest one I sent a follow up text, they replied right away and asked me for my email saying they were busy, and then got ghosted, so I sort of assume that means there's something wrong with my introduction email.
When I email a new provider I always include the information they ask for on their site/ad in a straightforward fashion (I'm XX years old, from NY, and work in XX), a polite but generic "loved your profile, would love to meet up if you're available next week", and nothing remotely explicit or suggestive. I also don't mention anything about references etc, figuring they'll ask for what they want. Am I doing something wrong here? Obviously everyone is different, and it's not like this has happened 100% of the time, but more often than I'd like so wondering if I'm missing something here, or is this just how it goes?
