How do you guys withdraw cash from joint account to go AMPs?
What do you tell your SO where the cash goes.

I really wanted to get back to AMPs, but after getting joint account with SO, I can't really find a way to fund the hobby.

Always have your own accounts and use them primarily. Secondary joint accounts just for show and her spending money.

given your situation mention to her that you want to start having some small amounts of cash on hand 1-2k. just in case od emergency etc etc. Because its good to have. Then start withdrawing a few hundo at a time. Keep 2k in your closet or wherever and then everyonce in awhile if you need to withdrawal money you can say its to replenish. Basically muddy the waters.

Also some places take credit cards. Angel wellness in fair lawn.

A wise older Man told me when I was working at a union job at age 21. "Son, always have your own account." and
"Never let your gf/ wife know how much you make."

We shared credit card as well, will it shows up as "Angel Wellness", that is a very suspicious name lol, will be awesome if it can shows up as "Bob car care" or sth similar.

I have my own account, but even if I didn't - whenever you have to take cash out just take out more than you need. Then set it aside for your "fun money"

Start doing cashbacks as well @oldfartbr. An extra $60 each time you go to the store. Adds up.
Yeah take cash back and always have some cash on you, this way you can justify the cash back, or you can always say you owe somebody money for a sports bet or something, there’s always a sporting event to bet on, you can say you used the cash to place a bet

or any habit/hobby that the SO knows about but that you know they don't give you a hard time for. I smoke weed and my SO knows I use cash to buy that, for example. And she has no clue how much that stuff costs generally, so there's wiggle room there. Same with betting, as you note, Jameswills1985. For some its golf or drinking w/ buddies. Find another hobby as your cover for the $$

This works well for me, I have credit cards with capital one, I opened a paperless checking account there, so when I wanna make the payment I will transfer the money to the checking account make the credit card payments then leave something for my hobby, otherwise, I'd have to send some money to my trading account, and withdraw to that capital one account, funny that I think about it right now, I am using all of my trading/investments income for the hobby lol

Unless you and she are married, sharing all of your finances is dangerous. Who actually manages the money, pays the bills, etc?

Also don't you and your SO each keep some spending money for yourselves each week? If not, you should start doing that so you have money to hobby with.

Wells Fargo has something called a “way to save” account. Both me and the wife have one. It draws $100 a month into each of our accounts for spending money to do whatever we want. She doesn’t have access to it even though our main accounts are shared, and she doesn’t care about what’s in it since she has one too. I also do cash back at the store all the time and put it in there. That gives me 1-2 trips for a massage each month. She buys shoes, I buy AMP time.
