from the linked article: "The recent operation was conducted alongside the Hampden Township Police Department and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office focusing on a Hampden Township hotel. " (emphasis added) I'm pretty sure that means that the 15 arrests were made at that hotel, not at any AMP's.

I came onto this site to post the same article. I hope you all stay safe out there. I’ve been in communications with someone from doublelist because I really need a good massage, but I had to be a (possible dickhead) and cancel because I just wasn’t getting good vibes. All these raids and busts has me on edge. One of my friends got arrested last month in one of the stings and his mug shot was everywhere. Didn’t even know he was cheating on his girl or in the lifestyle.

With what I posted, I really do need a good therapeutic massage. Saw my chiropractor today because of a possible pinched nerve, but still have pain. I’m afraid to go anywhere now. And Stephanie in New Cumberland who seemed somewhat promising raised her prices, so I don’t even know where to go or what to do anymore .

Try Cindy at New Asian Massage on Market Street in Camp Hill. Tell her your pain points and she will take care of you. 100% therapeutic. No extras.

Thanks for the recommendation. Between being in pain and not knowing where do go with the possibility of being arrested, I’ve been stressing.

I really don't get that level of fear. You can't be arrested just for going to an AMP. They'd have to have evidence that you paid money for a sexual service. How are they going to do that, short of planting cameras or audio bugs? Planting bugs is a huge invasion of privacy, and as the Florida fiasco showed, it's hard to justify. The only other way they can nail you is if they raid and find you with a therapist without her clothes on.

Let's say you're lucky enough to find a therapist who takes some of her clothes off; what are the odds of a raid happening in the 15-45 minutes that she's disrobed? Even if you were 100% sure the spa is going to be raided in the next two weeks, that's 14 x 12 = 168 hours of open time. There's one chance in 224 that the raid would happen during your lucky 45 minutes. And that's assuming 100% chance of a raid of THAT spa in the next 2 weeks. I'd happily bet $100 that any particular currently open spa (in the HBG/Carlisle area) WON'T be raided in the next two weeks. The actual chance of being caught in a raid during an AMP visit is probably way less than 1 in 1000.

The Cumberland County DA definitely has it in for commercial sex. So far it doesn't seem to have spread to Dauphin County. The episode at the end of August indicated that several spas in the neighboring counties were involved. So far nothing in the news about the spas in the neighboring counties, only reports that Lisa's and Anna's spas in York are closed. Nothing definite about any place in the Harrisburg area.

True but I don’t need any questions asked or attention on me. Some of us are married and have jobs.

Exactly. They aren't necessarily looking for convictions as much as deterrence. Yeah, at most it's a misdemeanor in most cases, and yeah without real hard evidence you could fight it and win. But by that point your photo is already out there, and the arrest record. And fighting it could cost a lot of money. Expungement will also cost a lot.

As Michael Rappaport says, "Just STFU." But there's a lot of damage to you before you ever get in front of a judge.....

Fight what? How would you have been arrested? Do you think they're going to arrest you because they saw you entering a spa? Or are you worried about the 0.1% chance that they'll raid it precisely when you'll be there?

Being stopped and questioned is a legitimate concern. I'm married and self-employed, but my wife knows I get massages, so being questioned would not be a big deal for me. I can see where it might be a big deal for some married guys, though. For me, it's business as usual. In fact, I've gotten 10 massages at four different Central PA spas in the past 9 days without the slightest incident. (Yeah, it's a major binge, making up for several weeks of massage-less travel.)
