Haha wow. I think this a low even for this board. Those women and young girls have been through some unspeakable things coming up through Central America. They shouldn't be here and I think they need to be deported en masse, but in the same breath, I'm not going to take advantage of someone who would be selling candy on the train otherwise.

I’ve been solicited since the early 90’s, but not by migrants. I wouldn’t take a chance.

Mine came here 120 years ago and weren't put up in 500/night hotel rooms with free meals and phones provided.
I think I will give it a shot then. I thought they might have been housed in the slum hotels in midtown. I don’t do slum hotels but an upscale one, yes…lol.

500 night hotel rooms is laughable.

They stay in places like the Roosevelt and the Milford Plaza.
They sure as shit aren't staying in the Motel Six...

I was in the Roosevelt probably about 100 times.
BDJ and AC/BAC put girls there all the time.

Back in the 90’s, I avoided the 42nd street action because this was an easy way to get trapped into a bait & switch, and maybe even mugged or assaulted.

Both washed up hotels. The hotels are fine with the money they are getting.
The Roosevelt is one block away from GCT.
PRIME location.
If you consider that "washed up", OK, we disagree.
Anyways, they are illegal aliens, have no right to be here, and I want them deported ASAP.
And I will vote for that in 2024.

Washed up. They closed partly do to covid and reopened to get money for being migrant housing.

You're gonna turn this thread political. Idk if that is still against rules here anymore or not.

Why would you want them deported. These will be the future Republican voters that will vote out Democrats. Take the good with the bad.

I agree, I don't want to get into politics, but what the current regime is allowing to happen to this city/country has me ticked off beyond belief.\
I said what was on my mind. I won't post about it anymore.

The Roosevelt used to be a really classy place with a great bar.

Speaking about the hotel. You do know it closed in 2020 and was facing financial problems? And reopened to get in on the money from the city.

Speaking of when will the Waldorf reopen? The peninsula outside still looks nice during the holidays. The mandarin still looks nice, le pierre, idk if fourseasons will reopen. Park Hyatt still around etc

Yes. Closed because of the bogus Covid shutdowns, like so many other great NYC places.
And yes, of course the owners will take guaranteed govt money.
Just like Section 8 landlords.
Would you want to live in a building that accepts section 8 vouchers?
It's like that.
So yeah I agree, the owners are complicit.
Doesn't make it right.
