I'm not writing a review because I didn't see her, but my experience with her should be documented at least as a warning to fellow POC.
Nattaly (sometimes called Ashley, sometimes called Reika, probably other names) has been adversing in the business as long as I can remember. She's Indian (or some kind of Desi) and post obvious fake pics of big breasted indian woman in her ads. I've always been curious but never took the plunge. Not a lot of reviews, and the few I could find were a mix bag at best.
My current level of good options being pretty limited, I decided to give her a call.
I call her and ask for an appoint. She asks my age, I say I'm in my 40s. She asks my nationality... have been asked that question before, I know what she really wants to know is Race. I hate that question, I've always hated that question, because no hobbyist of any race is more respectful or easy going than me.
But anyway even though I hate being asked that question, I'd rather get it out the way, because if race is going to be a problem I'd rather know NOW before I start driving. So I answer "I'M BLACK." I want to be clear I didn't say 'AA' I didn't say African American, I didn't say American. I didn't say anything that could be interpreted as anything other than "Black."
I in no way fit the stereotype of big thuggish black person but if she is one of those women who assumes all Black men are Thugs I told her I was black. I excepted her to say come up with some bullshit why she couldn't see me but as soon as I said that I was black... but she responded "okay I'll text you the address." Cool, she's okay with seeing a black guy, worst case scenario this could be a fun event to right a review about.
I get the address, I drive over there, I find parking. I get to her apartment building and I call, she buzzes me in, tells me to take the elevator to the 5th floor but doesn't tell me what door. I get out of the elevator. So I'm standing there for a few seconds when an apartment door opens and this Old Indians woman's head pops out, she's wearing a pink dress with her boobs pushed up, I say "hello". She sees me says "Wrong Number" and slams the door in my face.
I head to the elevator and less than minute later I get a phone call from her,
she asked "Where are you?"
I say "I'm by the elevator"
She says "What's your nationality?"
I say "I already told you I'm black."
She says "oh she's not working today."
I respond "Yeah whatever" and hang up.
This is a new level of being pissed off in this hobby for me. I don't like it that so many ladies in this industry won't give me a chance just because I'm black, but I accept that. If they put it in their ads, I know not call them. If they ask it on the phone, I am upfront about it because then they can just say no and save us both the hassle.
But this is the first time I was asked on the phone, said I was black and STILL got turned away at the door. So I'm pretty pissed off about this, but what can I really do but vent here. Stay Safe.
