I can see this coming up in my near future.
Kids are getting to that age where we need to monitor there whereabouts.
Obviously I don’t want to be monitored.
How did you guys handle this?
Thanks

Just make your location preferences off. Then you won’t be tracked in Life360. But you will be able to see your kids location. Just check it every now and then, sometimes when the app updates it clears the preferences and then you will be able to be tracked. So before you leave to hobby, check it and make sure you are not tracked.

I think what he’s asking is typically the entire family shares locations and everyone knows where everyone is. The SO will likely initiate wanting to get the whole family on location tracking.
Jeez, is that what people do these days?
My mother simply used to go outside on the front steps and blow a whistle when we had to come home for dinner...

Exactly.
When the time comes it’s going to be horrible.
How do I tell the wife, Hell no nobody is going to monitor my whereabouts!

I have no family and therefore no experience with these types of apps.
However, I did a google and there were many hits. Search for: "life 360 spoofer"

Wow, fancy shmancy! You got a whistle! My mom would just yell my name from the stoop. I got a 5-minute warning yell at 5:55pm and had to be at the table with hands washed by 6.

whats the difference between this app and iphones Find my friends?
I'm not sure about all the features of Find my Friends, but this app can let you set "places". So you can set home, school, work, parents house, playground, restaurant AMPS etc as places and know when someone goes there or leaves by getting alerts on your phone. You can also see a history of their movements on a map for a limited time. Can use whether your family member has iphone or android

It's great for keeping track of kids or older parents where they are having cognitive issues and might get lost. I used it to keep track of in-laws during covid so that we knew if they went out and weren't supposed to LOL

Wow, fancy shancy, You got a yell! My parents wouldn't call us and if we showed up for dinner after six, they just said your brothers and sisters are eating your portion of the meal. Grab the bread and peanut butter and enjoy your dinner.

That sounds horrible. I was late plenty of times. A kid loses track of time.
