This is bullshit. It takes more backbone to upend your life and your family's life for the greater good, than to walk around in the world like a manly man, get sick, and then pass a life-threatening disease to other people who have asthma or diabetes or are simply old. All because you didn't want to sit at home alone for a couple months. What's so brave about that? Plus, if you do find yourself sick and gasping for breath and you have to go to the ER, great job dude, you're taking a hospital bed and a ventilator away from someone's grandma because they had to do triage and unfortunately for the rest of us, they picked you instead of the grandma.

Chances are great that we're all gonna get covid-19 at some point or another. For many, it's not about fearing for the personal safety. The point right now is to stop the spread long enough so that people who get it and really need help can get the help that they need. And to give the healthcare system time to figure out the best way to treat it.

Who is saying to walk around like an ignorant asshole and do stupid shit??
You are making inferences in my comment that are not accurate and running with them. I think people should be extremely careful.
That goes without saying.
It's the underlying "pansy" attitude that surprising.

In accordance with the title of this thread...

At the cellular level nothing is "tough" per se. But "smart".

The qualities that allow you to continue living are:

- Adaptability, which further breaks down to "intelligence", "accuracy/dexterity", "proactivity/vigilance" etc.

- Vitality and integrity of genetic sequence. The quality of your original DNA and telomeres at conception

- Fuel and environment. What you are feeding your cells , the longest of which has a lifespan of 6-12 months.

I would like to understand all 3 qualities for anyone in the ICU from this under age 50. You only have control over #3,and those with vulnerabilities in #1/#2 need to be more careful.

Immune system "intelligence" is far more important than "strength" or "durability"

How fast can your helper Ts gather information and delegate? That determines 90% of the outcome. Helper T cells that are sluggish result in a late response that involves severe fever and pneumonia. If only the Intel was received when viral load was lower the Macrophages and Killer Ts could have began corralling the virus off before it has a chance to infect organs.

Once your mast B cells sound the alarm it's q problem and Killer Ts go on a rampage and the histamine eventually results in inflammation which damages healthy tissue. Steroids are then necessary to reduce the inflammation which has gotten out of hand.

Mast B cells sound the alarm when viral load has reached the point where all your front line Macrophages and NK cells etc are busy. It is a call for reinforcement and mobilization. Inflammatory Cytokines released by these cells are only safe in the body for a couple of hours (depending on the type). When you have pneumonia part of the scarring risk is due to your own immune system fumbling the ball trying to kill the invader and the Cytokines which do not belong in the lung overstay their welcome, cause swelling, trap mucous and block oxygen resulting in a vicious cycle.

This is why I've been investigating not solely
"BOOSTING" the immune system but getting it PROACTIVE, ACCURATE AND INTELLIGENT. Medicinal mushrooms are the best thing in that regard. But expect zero research to be conducted in this arena as mushroom mycelium is easy to cultivate and cannot be patented fully and therefore NOT profitable.

I am taking Turkey Tail mushroom right now as it is immune modulating and hopefully preventative of the situation I mentioned above.

Perhaps you should've went into the medical field. Seems like you are drawn to it.

I really should keep
my opinions to myself.
Certainly not worth
bickering about.

Everyone is trying to get by
the best they can and there are obviously more important things to deal with.

Okay. Sorry if I over-interpreted your post. I see a lot of stupid shit being posted by people and I think some are really missing the bigger picture. The most anyone can ask is that everyone try to think through the consequences of their actions right now, and to try to act responsibly, not only for themselves, and their families, but for the greater community. If you're doing all that, then I guess I don't (and shouldn't) care what you think about anyone else, pansy or otherwise.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm in total agreement.
My intention was not to say or imply that people who give a shit are pansy's. In actually it's quite the opposite. Old people and younger people who were not blessed with good health are dying from this. The world is shutting down.

It's certainly possible that my post was directed towards the wrong people, the wrong thread. Stay well.

I like to think I’m a tough guy at times, invincible. It’s my big ego along with my low self esteem that fuels my bad decision making.I compare the situation as to getting in the ring with Mike Tyson.Eventually he’s gonna knock me out and it will definitely hurt.Surrender to win!
I’ll sit this one out.If anyone is tested positive I would hope that you post it along with all of the providers you have visited.

Question to those that cut off early: would you be able to limit it to your budget when this is over? Providers will definitely be charging more to try and recoup lost income. And then there's all the mongers suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Could you wait it out a bit longer for the prices to drop back to normal?
