Hi guys,

I'm looking for a good Korean Restaurant to take a client while in NYC. Many years ago (more like 20) I knew of a couple places as my Korean clients took me there. I have no recollection where they were. Both client and myself are not Asian, so hopefully you can recommend a place that we can go to.

Thanks to all who reply..

Hey, do you mean Manhattan, or NYC in general? Depending on where you're from, NYC sometimes means Manhattan and sometimes all boroughs.

In the East/West 30s in NYC, from Madison Avenue to 6th Avenue on 33rd, 32nd and 31st streets there are a host of Korean restaurants. Since they're all in competition with one another, they all have to be good. If you're in Flushing, there's a 24-hour BBQ place on Northern Boulevard called KumGangSam that's excellent with plenty of parking. Can't go wrong there.

What’s your budget? Are you looking for a high end and fancy Korean restaurant or just a nice BBQ place?

The restaurant owners in K-Town hate each other as well. lol.

Both Kum Gang San in Manhattan and Flushing have gone downhill a bit. The quality of food isn’t as good as before. But the one in Flushing was very good before the pandemic hit.

Don's Bogam (32nd & Mad) has good BBQ.
And it's usually quieter that than the ones more towards the center of k-town.
Another nice place. Many of the Korean amp girls eat here because they don’t want to be seen at 32nd St. lol

I tell them that they’re only a couple of blocks away. lol.

OP. You're within walking distance to PG/GGR. Make sure you stop by afterwards. (y)

And that's the last time I went: a couple of months before the pandemic. Thanks for the update.

There's also a place on Northern Boulevard around 163rd or 164th Street. It's only street parking but still worth the trip.

I like Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong on 32 and Mad.
It’s got the right mix of hipster and really good quality food
If it’s a client to splurge on:
Atomix or Jungsik
Both will rock your world and close a deal at the same time

The original cook left Kum Gang San during the pandemic. A new cook came but he’s not as good as the previous one.

Guys! Thanks for the great replies! We're going to be in Manhattan and while I would go to the AMP's, I don't think he partakes in the desserts available after dinner. Maybe when we part ways I may go for some Korean dessert!
