When I first started this hobby decades ago, the justification is that dating can be expensive. But nowadays after learning about what’s out there, it’s starting to be hard for me to justify the asking price. For example, in Brazil you can easily get it for $10-20 usd at a local place and $60 at a higher end. Same like in asia where $30-60 is the norm or fkk in germany. Meanwhile here in Queens even a fast house can be $60-140 for not so attractive ladies. Don’t even get me started with $60 grannies at 40th. $140+ can also get us decent toys/electronics that provides a long lasting joy. Honestly I’m not sure if going abroad ruined me or I’m just getting old for this? Granted that we can’t take our money to the grave, so might as well enjoy our life a bit. Curious to hear how you guys justify this hobby, do you set a no guilt budget? Or?
Unless I'm planning to move to a certain country, I don't factor in the dollar's purchase power. And what you are seeing is just that, the purchase power of the USD, 'cause if you lived in said actual country, say Brazil as you mentioned where it's $10-20, where "People with a per capita income
between $188.12 and $727.86 per month are considered middle class", that $10-20 you mention would sting the wallet just as bad if you were a part of their working economy/resident without a flow of USD from a US based income and I point that out 'cause good luck purchasing USD in Brazil or other parts of South America.
Now how do I justify it?........it's many times cheaper than having a girlfriend that could turn into a wife with two kids who can take everything. It's cheaper because you will have lots of personal time to make $ as opposed to investing time in a gf or catering to their needs, which usually involve time. Time is money. Also, variety. Unless you are a brad pitt kind of guy, the average dude is not going to experience the #'s we have in this hobby. All worth the while imho so long as you can control things and don't let the hobby break your wallet.
