iPad advice

I have an iPad that I absolutely love, but it's running iOS 10.3.3 and can't be updated to newer versions. Most iPad apps now require iOS 11 or higher. And mine has gotten slow loading web pages. I'm getting ready to purchase a new iPad, but I'm not quite sure which one, either the regular iPad or the iPad Air. Also, should I go for the maximum amount of memory? I'll only be using it for email, surfing the web, and streaming. Thanks.

The 10.2“ iPad Gen 7 is considered the best value right now. You can often find it discounted quite a bit. I picked mine up from Verizon back in April, and was able to get it for $200 off retail (needed to buy an iPhone at the same time, and pay over 24 months). If you don’t load it up with pictures, movies, and apps, there’s no need to go for the extra storage capacity.

That should be Android. MS Surface tablets are way behind in the market.

I'm not "married" to the iPad, in fact I have a Samsung Android phone. I even bought my wife a Galaxy Tab at Costco as a Christmas present a couple of years ago. The iPad was my Mom's, and when she passed not quite 3 years ago, my sister sent it to me. Sentimental value, and the fact that the Apple Store will give me a $50 trade-in credit.

I have the iPad that came out in 2018. Believe it is 9.7 inches.

I think it is a terrific product and I plan to buy the MacBook Air. I think that one is 13 inches and will replace my old desktop.

Took me a while to come around to Apple, but I do think it is a high quality product.

Buy a nice leather case for it rather than the stock one from Apple.

Very few apps were not upgraded from iOS10 to iOS13. But it is a very good idea to confirm.

My iPad is version 9.3.5 and it seems to get slower by the day. Some content never downloads. It’s a good workhorse. I’ve been thinking of getting a new one, but as long as this one works, I’ll just keep using it.

My WiFi here in North Carolina is 5G. Definitely noticed the difference on my iPad compared to what I had in New Jersey.

Tony used to tell me that Costco had special hours for seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He'd shop early. So check that out so you won't have to wait on a long line to get in.

I'm gonna take a pass on Costco today. Google weather says it's 88, feels like 96. Yikes! The dog and I are hanging out in my bedroom with the blinds drawn tight, the A/C set to 72, and the ceiling fan on high.

Get the basic iPad that u can get .. no need for additional memory, all it takes is to connect it to a PC and copy/clean your photos and videos.
I also had Samsung Galaxy tabs but they dont come anywhere closer to iPad. Too many ads in Android apps, takes a while to open apps and overall just not there... I know some people swear by Android and I was one of them when it came out ... until I changed over to Apple years ago.
