Girls are giving attitude (ironically enough) at least in my neighborhood. As I said, instead of dropping prices or improving service level they just frown and shuffle around with a grunt and frown on their face. Great strategy to attract more customers!
One spa in my area which had traffic problems to begin with the Woman looked like a Korean Ru Paul and was VERY abrasive and attitudinal. In an UP market she would face difficulty getting clients. In a DOWN market PLUS a CONTAGION atmosphere where mongers are CAREFULLY taking calculated risks (especially with Katz cracking down on Spas to boot) she doesn't stand a chance. Most will walk without a moment's hesitation and it's reflected in her anger which seems to be additionally built up over time. I have been going to Spas over 10 years and can tell.
I typically always leave the door slightly ajar even when rejecting a provider and apologize for not selecting them. However, what I am seeing is they are now vehemently slamming it shut to the point of where the hinges break off instead of trying to pry it back open. On the flip side I can respect persistence in a nice and respectful way, but it seems now like the reaction is anger, confusion and child like and the complete opposite of what will get them a favorable result from a monger.
We all know Women are the biggest children in any room but this is taking it to a brand new level of childish behavior and logic.
At least in Astoria and Elmhurst I do not get the sense that providers are reacting the same way as maybe in other areas. There is almost a flippant attitude of denial (which again is unfortunately very common in most Women).
