Thanks for the info.

I use BofA and one near me has the older ATMs that don't have a choice for denominations. I think there's a Chase branch an extra block away, I'll have to check them out. I just hate the say and repeat process at the BofA teller. I say I want some amount of money in hundreds and then the teller repeats it back to me. It's not a problem when the bank is empty. But when there's a line of people behind me due to the lack of tellers, I get a bit paranoid.

Sorry for the dumb question, but I got a new tip out of it -- start banking with Chase or just use their branch ATMs.
No reason to be paranoid or self conscious. There are many reasons people withdraw money and some withdraw a lot more than you.

Tellers see multiple people withdraw 1K+ a day. The vast majority of those withdrawals are not for escorts, but for things like cash transactions with non-labor contractors or trips to the casino. My brother in-law's a bank manager (started out as a teller) and he doesn't bat an eye when someone withdraws less than 10K in cash (yes, TEN THOUSAND). If you're frequently withdrawing 1K+, they'll think you're a degenerate gambler. None of them will ever think you're using the money on a provider.
Majority of tellers will know better and mind their own business anyway.
I rather go to a teller than an ATM because there's always going to be that snowflake in NYC that doesn't know how to fucking queue.

Truely, I wish my problem was how to deal with financial institutions over large withdrawals of thousands. I think for most of us the problem is how to acquire smaller amounts when finances are shared with a SO. I have wads of money but since so few transactions involve cash these days it’s difficult to Remain UTR on cash withdrawals of a couple of hundred every few weeks . In some ways I enjoy the restriction because it keeps things from getting out of hand, but it can be frustrating.
Congrats to those who don’t have to deal with this, but I bet it’s a greater concern to more folks than the subject of this thread. Any creative ideas short of breaking into atms.

I keep at least 15-20k at home most of the time. I work in a partly cash business (auto dealer auctions - buying and selling) and need immediate access to funds every day.

I've withdrawn 5k multiple times with no second looks. I try to avoid anything over 10k but I have done that and there can be paperwork involved. They will really dislike you if you get it in anything but 100s and 50s. They count those stacks multiple times and if you ask for 5k in 5s and 10s... that's just unpleasant.

Good iLord, it’s NY, look at these bank employees, you can see they have enough going on In Their own lives to spend any time wondering what every person who makes a withdrawal is doing with the money-or care-every culture has their particular way of doing thing when it comes to money-I keep cash at home and add to it all the time. when I’m in the mood, I hit that stash-

I think they're being paranoid because they know they're using it for something illegal lol.

Once people can get over that, they can actually act normally when when they're doing bad things.
