How close to your neighborhood?

Curious as to how close to your own house do you hobby? I dont want to get a big warm hello outside of the spa. I like to keep my worlds separate.

The closest I ever went was 5 min from home but that place is terrible. So I stopped going after only 2 tries. Generally, for TM/standard finish only, I go about 15 min away. For a full session the closest I go is about 40 min, largely because no good options exist for me near my home.

I will say this... going to close by places is less of a risk if:

1 - Always wear your "COVID" mask until you get inside. I like to pair that with sun glasses and baseball cap for maximum anonymity.

2 - If your car is flashy or easily recognizable, park it a few minute walk away so you don't have to potentially have a neighbor/friend see your car parked next to an establishment or in their parking lot.

3 - Try to wear "monger friendly" clothing if you can. I.E. not bright colors, no massive logos or sayings, stuff that blends in to what most average joes are wearing without drawing attention.

In combination this has worked well for me so far. That said... if you are easily recognized (for example let's say you are 7 feet tall with a mohawk) I would not go nearby because odds are you would be noticed. So all this with the caveat you aren't a "highly visible" person.

Good luck and stay safe!

There are virtually no spas except one in Roxborough and now a new one in Manayunk which are closer (5 minutes), but both are legit places. The closest that I ever went from my home is about 15 minutes away in Center City. the best place to blend in. Other places outside of the city in the burbs are typically a half hour away. I have never had to worry based on those destinations that I would be discovered. Now I don't have to worry not that I had to worry anyway. Jim, I got a lick out of your disguise description.

Thanks both. Respect your opinions. Ever have a provider approach you outside the spa. I'm assuming their anonymity is as important to them as mine is to me.

I drive by one all the time on busy street near me, most of the clientele going in and out look they came from a star wars bar themed fat camp

The center city spots are all mostly good because they either have discrete entrances or are in locations where I'm not likely to see someone I know. COVID masks certainly make things easier.

One time I made the mistake of going to a farmer's market type location near a spa I used to go for standard service. My favorite masseuse happened to be in there shopping for vegetables and I was with my SO. She saw me and smiled and said hello, I quickly acknowledged but moved away so she didn't approach. I think she knew what was up. Luckily SO did not see any of this, because I would have no way to explain how I know this random asian woman at the store. I may have been able to bluff my way out of it but it did make me anxious. Luckily I was able to avoid a serious issue.

I monger at facilities close to home for convenience, but my situation is fairly simple. If you need to hide your mongering from prying eyes, then many of the tips in this chain help. If you have the opportunity to travel for work, that's a great way to get in some visits to new places. Otherwise, leave work an hour early to swing through a shop closer (but not too close) to work. You could also make up a believable excuse about an issue at work where you had to stay later. Stress reduction by skillful hands is a good thing!

In the burbs you have to be very careful. I went to a bar across from my ATF and found out the bartenders like to watch guys try to be discreet as the enter and leave the spa across the street. You never know who could be watching!

The good thing is most of these ladies are not stupid. Like when I got the phone call I had to answer during my EPM session. I motioned to her "shhhh" and she was stone quiet, thankfully. If she had giggled and carried on I might not have been able to unwind that.

Evening Wayne,
Where is the new one in Manayunk?
I’m guess the Roxborough one is either the one on Domino lane or in Andorra

I live about five minutes from Chinatown I walk to almost all the spas I attend. I really don’t think anyone is paying attention to where are you are going except Jesus :ROFLMAO:

In the beginning, I would worry about getting caught. Now, with X-Rays and MRI's confirming the problems with my back, I really do not care if someone sees me entering or leaving a massage parlor. I would actually have a more difficult time explaining a visit at a distant location more than a local shop.

Guys, even if you are a picture of health, do yourself a favor and regularly discuss a tight, sore, stiff back with your SO. If you are ever seen, then someone can easily put 2+2 together and the ramifications will be much less severe.
