Has anyone stayed at Hotel Del Rey ***recently*** (since the renovations and reopening)?
I've read the action isn't quite what it used to be so I'm asking for your on-the-ground experience.
Other hotels I'm considering are Hotel La Amistad or Morazon Hotel & Casino (very close to HDR) or perhaps Sportsman's Lodge.

Otherwise can you recommend other mongering action spots and hotels near by?

Greetings, Been to Costa Rica 20 times. Any of the hotels you mentioned are good with different levels of service. Amistad or Sportsman's I can recommend. Amistad, not sure if its open, has a 1 price all inclusive, room, and all meals and drinks. Hotel is laid back, however Sportsmans gets alot of girls. No fee at either. There are other places to say. Best and current research is Costaricaticas.com, its a pay site if you want to write, but there are free spots on the forum, ck newbie and general, both are free and have a ton of information. Most of the girls head down to Jaco on the weekend. Prices have gone through the roof, they are not afraid to ask 300 to 500 per hour. I counter with how about $60 bucks some feel insulted and end up offering $100. The prices are more reasonable in San Jose but if you head to Jaco expect to pay higher prices.
In San Jose there are more nonpro girls working and you can cut a deal depending upon your game. If you are walking through the park becareful. At nigh it is recommended to take a cab or have a wingman. As a side bar, I have always liked the Amistad because of its location,
not far from hospital, more laid back, Sportsman'S a 5 minute walk down the street, no issue walking by yourself there. ALWAYS PAY AFTER SESSION.

Thanks @WBM1102.

It's my first trip to CR. I think I'm considering HDR because of 5-10 year old stories ;-). Thus the reason for my post. I notice you didn't recommend HDR.
I liked the reviews of Amistad on Trip Advisor and the review said it's about 50 meters to HDR. I'll specifically ask them about their guest policy.
I don't need a fancy hotel, just relatively clean, a hot shower, no roaches (ok 1 or 2 is ok but not an infestation) and no bed bugs.

You triggered an additional question: I've allocated 12 days each 50/50 to San Jose and Jaco.
Would it be better to spend more time in Jaco than SJO?
From your post it sounds like quality would be better in Jaco but more expensive?
I do like the idea of a non-pro or semi-pro though which is easier in SJO. I'm 55, average height and weight. Not sure if I can pull the hot non-pro. So my game is average.
In another forum the guy said all girls in SJO were DTF. Just politely ask the grocery shop chick if she'd like to meet up later. He may have been exaggerating ;-)

One more question: What's the best way to travel from SJO to Jaco? Flight? Bus? Private Driver?

I was in Costa Rica in May however I did not partake in any mongering activities.
Would be happy to answer any questions about Costa Rica. San Jose is very different than Jaco. Jaco is a small beach town, very touristy. I only had lunch there, which was excellent. Things are probably more expensive than San Jose. I wasn't impressed with San Jose but I've been to the big cities in South America; Peru, Colombia, and Argentina. I do speak spanish good enough to get by and would love to return to CR. They do speak English in most places there. Be carefull walking after dark, only walk were this are other people.
After reading your previous post I did do some research about the above mentioned hotels/brothels and the one in Medellin. If I were to go I would only stay at these places for a few days then move to a regular hotel. For me this would be enough. The hotels/brothels seem ok to stay a few days. I would enjoy more staying at a regular hotel after having some fun and making contacts. Pura Vida!

What would be recommended place to stay and easily find reasonably good provider and over night stay etc
I would highly recommend the Cocal Casino Hotel in Jaco Beach. Close to a 2 hour ride from SJ. The ride is very scenic and the taxi drivers will stop for food and beverages along the way. The Cocal is a Self contained establishment right on the beach. I haven’t stayed there in a few months, I recently started getting an Airbnb close to the bars. The Cocal is very popular I just get tired of the crowds. I tip the security guards and they will let your guests in along with keeping you safe. I usually travel dolo as most of my friends are married and have kids.

You might want to consider Cartegena as well, went twice this summer. Definitely with the trip.

What are other places for visitors in CR.? Besides SanJose and Jaco Beach. Hobbyist can always hit some one in any place. Need to keep eyes open and put some efforts.

Well I’ve gotta say, Costa Rica is probably my favorite place I’ve ever visited. I flew into guanacaste and stayed in playa conchal at the Westin I believe. Beautiful resort and beach but it’s kinda out of the way and secluded. On the beach right outside the resort, along with the usual dudes peddling weed and whatnot, there was also
Some women offering massages. Some of the girls were fuckkng beautiful and took a chance with one, we walked down the beach a little ways and wow best massage of my life. She had a table set up just off the beach overlooking the ocean…only time I’ve had an outdoor he haha, but I also recommend playa tamarindo, it’s a cool surf/beach town that was a lot of fun for drinks and so
Many sexy women and not expensive…definitely recommend
