Had the pleasure of meeting Hank in the 80s, with my little league team. He treated us like old pals, talked to us and not at us AND spoke to us like people and not kids—hope that makes sense. He was an inspiration for me growing up and another upstanding male to add to my list of examples how to be to grow up as a good Man. #ripMrAaron and thank you.

Henry Aaron hit 755 Homers , no steroids no watered down expansion teams where minor leaguers are regularly in games . During the pitching dominant times of the mid sixties to early 70s , he was in his prime having to face Gibson , Koufax , Drysdale , Marichal , Seaver , etc . And unlike today’s home run hitters , he was not a strikeout machine . He never struck out 100 times in a season . Best home run hitter of all time - period . And he did it with humility , class and grace . Very underrated fielder as well

Loved and hated the guy at the same time.

Aaron played 357 games against the Phillies in his career, and fittingly homered 76 times, slashing .318/.375/.572. During his 1957 MVP year, Aaron collected four home runs and 15 RBI opposite the Phillies in 22 games and 93 plate appearances.

I would mostly curse out the idiotic pitchers for throwing the ball where the guy could hit it!

Ha!
I felt the same away about Yastrzemski. And George Brett.
