Won't help the original poster, but a true story for y'alls. Before technology. Before caller ID! 1980s. One day my mother received a call. Female voice: "tell your husband he can come pick up his clothes or I'm throwing them out the window". Well, I don't remember what exactly the words were according to mom's report, but something implying an affair. Caller may have even used my father's real name. (For those of you who weren't conscious during the stone ages, there was something called a "phone book". You could pull a million names and their numbers out of a hat. If you lost your phone - wait that was impossible back then, and your phone didn't hold your contacts anyway. If you lost your little address book you could just look up your friends' numbers again). My mother just laughed. The idea of my father being able to get himself a side piece was just so implausible to her. She just assumed it was a crank call. (There used to be something called a "crank call")

I did too.

Now I'm wondering.......was it? Did Dad have more going on with the ladies then we ever gave him credit for?

Moral of the story - be as undesirable as possible! Maybe then you can get away with all kinds of shit.

if your girl is on your phone that’s a problem she has her own phone no need to snoop through yours
It's not about snooping. It's like "hey babe, I want to see photos of our trip" or she wants to look something up while her phone is in the other room. All sorts of reason she may need to use your phone and you eliminate any possible way she may stumble upon something. Or like OP, you forget to disable notifications and that shit pops up somewhere.

Exactly how it’s done if you just sort your phone properly no one will ever find something unless they go digging

Told her it was a buddy, just joking around. She’s suspicious, but I feel like maybe she doesn’t want to know the truth
good move, now download a texting app, create a new ph number and start sending texts to her that say ‘see you soon, honey’. Or something similar, send a couple to your phone too around the same time Saying ‘hey, your wife is up to no good”. Lol.

tell her that someone is punking you and show her the text. See if she says anything about her texts.

what should i do. Im going away on a business trip, and made an appointment on my phone. My wife walks in, and the text goes thru my apple laptop notifications and it says" see you tommrow babe" shit..i'm fucked
Allow me to be your bro. I call everyone babe, just like Tom Brady does. It's very Hollywood.

Either that or, if you're okay with it, let me seduce your wife. So she has something to hide as well.

FYI - For any iPhone users out there - if you happen to use the family sharing feature, whoever is setup in the family group can see all your app downloads (and Vice versa). In case you don’t know where it is: go to App Store> tap on top right bubble (probably your picture) > tap on Purchased > tap on My Purchases. The title is a misleading as it includes all my free app downloads but as you can see if you use family sharing, you can see what your family members have downloaded as well.

If you want to make sure your SO doesnt accidentally stumble on this screen and find ur Burner app swipe left on whichever app on the My Purchases screen and click on Hide and that should take care of it. Wish iPhone had secured folders feature like android.

Maybe it’s just me- but perhaps avoiding indie girls would eliminate the problem. If they have your number, you never know when they might call or text (And maybe I’ve watched too many episodes of “Law and Order “, but I always had a fear that if an Indy girl had my number in her phone or text messages back and forth, and something happened to her, I would get the cops knocking on my door asking questions. Call me paranoid, but one can never be too careful… especially if you have a life situation that you don’t want to lose)

Or your kids want to play subway surfer while you are driving...so many reasons why I think two devices is the right call. But it depends on wach persons living arrangements.

If it is serious enough that they need to send detectives out, they are going to subpoena the burner app provjder, who will give them ip and mac addresses and the phone company will give them cell tower pings. Then the detectives will have to do a lot of legwork but eventually track you down, angry they had to waste so much time. Probably a worse result.
