Because they get paid. Not being forced. They can say no, and most would. No different than any sex worker getting paid for any service they are willing to.

They are sex workers, no question about it. It’s not that big a deal.

Many do have other sources of income. They are very good at maximizing their connections to make money. Some work in restaurants when not in spas. Some are involved in the family business back home, some work in mahjong parlors, and the list of their money making goes on and on.

Oh, and let’s not forget, “when I’m not here, I do nails”.
