I texted a few numbers from Bedpage last Saturday. Couldn't find anything new so I hit up one of my go to girls. On Sunday I get a text from someone telling me that I stood up a girl that I made a date with and that the boss was upset. They told me that I needed to pay up before the boss puts me on his "list". I didn't reply. On Monday I get a text with the crazy images of a guy shot up and another with his head cut off. The text said that they knew where I worked and where all of my family lived. Knowing that this was a scam I found some really fucked up images of dead people and sent them back to the number that text me along with a video clip of a guy getting his heart cut out with a knife while he was still alive and watching his own death. I haven't heard back from them every since. lol

Amazing what can be found out online with just a phone number.
Pretty sure it’s a scam but no need to chance having some idiot contact your SO.

I’ve had my text now number for what seems like forever.
I just uninstall when I’m not needing it.
Great option.

Ive received those same texts multiple times. One time I told them I wanted to pay and to come meet me, then I gave them the address to the local police precinct. Ahahahah
Another time I threatened them and said all kinds of crazy shit. They left me alone after that.

Question for you guys... I occasionally will get a text with just a "hi" or "how are you". Last time I got this cartel message, it was the same "how are you" and when I said "okay?" I got sent the usual gruesome stuff etc. Does this happen with others where they get a random "hi" or "how are you" message?

I got an annual plan from Red Pocket through ebay. Can it be traced back to me? Yes. But it's a real number.
I think I paid 40 for the year. 100 min and 1000 texts with 200 mb data on a monthly basis. I dont really need data. The call/text bucket covers my itches for the month and the next month I get another set. My only problem is that I have to hide my hobby phone. I know that for some the google voice is the way to go but I've run into problems with that. Separate phones work better for me. YMMV.
