For some, there isn't much else that will make that amount--which is why they do it.
But few make an actual $300 an hour. When they account for expenses (especially if incall), and prep time, etc., it is far less than that net per hour. Adjust for the greater risk compared to a more mundane job, and it is less still.
That is one reason the smart ones prefer multi-hour appointments with guys they know well enough to feel safe at an outcall.
