Do you recommend using a second phone / burner phone for going to AMPs?

But your example layers on an addition dynamics , cameras at amp .
My comment is with respect the phone only. If you want to find me with my GV you need subpoena .
Thats why I prefer my app that subpoena will get looked at even more and take longer from a foreign phone number app than Goggle which is quick af to comply.

Regardless, for them to get a subpoena some real big occurrence had to happen. They aren't wasting time with subpoenas for people that call and text an amp in most cases.

Your employer most likely can see your communications with prositutes.
Careful .
I agree. That's extremely risky. If it's only phone calls you'd probably be okay, assuming you make plenty of other calls and it would get lost in a sea of call logs, but texts are more readily seen.
Ha, I told my manager the other day after seeing NYAW Fiona on her first day back, "Hey, Fiona says hi." LOL, not worried.

The NSA was hacked. SSL, the gold standard for internet security, was compromised. Then there is the "future" issue (this data can be hacked in the future using improved resources). My point is 1) digital security is highly vulnerable. 2) Why you? You may say, the people who go after the NSA or a bank will not pay attention to an indidual. That is correct. The people who will go after you are your spouses, co workers, etc. IE people very close to you . These people already have enormous access to you and tons of info about you. Which will make "hacking" really really easy. LE? they will not target you. They will target the spa. They don't need a subpeona to trace calls made to the spa. Your burner phone is linked to you . Somehow. If someone is looking, they will find.

The solution to a world with 0 privacy is to have no shame.

True, but you assume a paid private investigator has scruples, which they don't.

Agreed! That is of course unless your provider turns up face down floating in the East River .

My go-to method is always start my VPN, download the app and use it. Before entering the building, go on Airplane mode, finish the purpose of the visit, get out and uninstall app, switch off VPN.

For those who want to use VPN, don't use free VPN and definitely don't use VPN established in the Five Eye alliance.

This is a great thread. Thanks guys. This may be extremely low-tech, but if communications with the AMP are by iPhone text and you delete the texts, I don't think they can be retrieved by SO or other family members. Also by using only incognito or private browser searches aren't you at least protected from those with access to your phone and computer?

Negative on nearly all accounts. Phone companies and pull up text/call logs even after you delete them from your phone Anyone with access to the account can review. Incognito does not block anyone from seeing the traffic in an out of your computer, only the browser 'history'.

The extent of your privacy depends on several factors, including who exactly owns the phone, the nature of the information on the phone, and whether law enforcement has some interest or need for the information on the phone. While the cell phone company stores your info, usually a subpoena or warrant is needed for them to release to a third party, like an attorney or LE

Very true for le. If your employer or family have full access to the account, be advised no subpoena or any legal action required.

Well if you’re using a company-issued phone, then your employer would have access. You’d have to be brain dead to use such a phone for hobbying. Family could have access if it’s on a shared account. Again this would not be a phone you should ever use for hobbying. A burner is best option if you can keep it hidden or else come up with a good reason to have one if it’s discovered. If you use your own phone with password protection, a burner app, GV, etc, you will be more protected from snooping eyes, although not 100%
