Do you recommend using a second phone / burner phone for going to AMPs?

There are plenty of apps you can download and use for free. As long as you text once a month, the number is valid. Other options include paying per month. Some of the apps like Talkatone or Textfree just need you to give an email address.

In my case, after every visit to the amp, I delete the app. When I want to visit again, I download it again.

if someone wants to find you they will. there is no footprint free route. sometimes the efforts to conceal themselves will bet you busted. like a bald guy wearing a hat inside
I can say that there are very few ways to be anonymous but the only reason I suggested that was so that it is easier if you have a family or in the other case, you don't want the spam numbers calling you on your app during odd hours which has happened plenty of time for me.

Also, the easiest way to be anonymous is to have a used GSM phone with a prepaid sim that is just used for this hobby, but there are other ways too if people research it. This is just to protect your phone number which might be linked to your bank account or other important stuff.

And I agree with you @herbstriker; leaving no footprint is very hard. In the end, your face is on their camera when you visit. What more do they need to bust anyone or get info about anyone. Maybe @yoserf is asking to make sure his number is not on a database or maybe he doesn't want his family to know about calls made.

Not really unless that someone is armed with a subpoena signed by a judge. Your statement is correct if you are dumb enough to use your regular cell number .

Yes, something that you can dispose of easily. If they want to text you to see them every other day or want to harass you, it is a lot easier to ignore or get rid of a phone number that only has one purpose.

A place is busted and your number is in the database like the Korean busts of 2016.

There are other reasons like if you have a SO or a family. They forgot their phone and want to use yours or the kids want to play on your phone, etc...

That is actually very true and I totally agree with it. If they want to find someone, they will try to use footage from the AMP's camera if they catch that place doing something wrong and still question you about what you were there for. Not just say they busted you for this and that charge. Or they do shit like what they did with Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Without those, they always need a judge to sign a subpoena to even get info.

Some voip numbers are sometimes shared by companies and it actually makes it harder for the companies to give details. These are voip companies based overseas and the subpoena for this is another long process depending on the country where the server is and whatnot.

I mainly don't give my real number because they can always misuse my phone number which has all my accounts linked, be it email or bank. Please be careful about that. My kind request.

But your example layers on an addition dynamics , cameras at amp .
My comment is with respect the phone only. If you want to find me with my GV you need subpoena .

I use google voice on my regular phone. That a huge layer of protection and enough I think.
Make sure to login to your google account and turn location tracking OFF! It's on by default and from a PC someone can download your entire GPS history. (Including the floor of building you are in.) - Also note that you can mark a number as SPAM google so the texts go straight to a spam folder which you have to open to view.

To do that wouldn't they need to hack into my account or find the password ?

For a total stranger to hack your gmail it's a bit difficult but someone that lives with you has physical access to a computer you use with that gmail can hack your password so many ways it's comical. 1. http://www.keelog.com/ USB Keystroke recorder (these have been out since I was a kid, I bought one back in the 90's. 2. If you use a common keyboard someone could just take down the model number and a sound recording of you typing then pay someone to figure out your keystrokes. 3. Even a totally computer illiterate pc person can pay a random hacker on upwork.com to hack your home router and capture all of your passwords via MITM, etc. I mention these as it should never be so easy that an unlocked phone/email account will spill the beans. Hence it would likely be better to use a burner phone app that you install/uninstall at hobby times. In another phone!!!!

Putting anyone who lives with me aside how can someone who knows my GV number find my true identity?
For example girls I meet on SA who I text. Let's say for example I get into a dispute over money with one of them and she wants revenge. And let's say she computer savvy. Walk me thru the steps of how she knowing my GV number can find the true real me .

It's not going to be easy. If you use Google + then surely you need to go into settings and turn off "help others find me". Other than that I can only speculative a sugar baby paying a private detective or attorney to request Google provide username, email etc under the guise of some law being broken.

Another good reason to have a burner/alternate number - to prevent the effects of BANNING.

A few months ago, got turned down by a pro, asked why, said I had a “bad rep,” and sent me a list of GRIPES from other pros.

After a little research, discovered they were tied to a site that listed my phone number, along with these PHONY gripes.

Had to contact site to have them removed. Had I a burner, I would have simply thrown it away and started from scratch.

I agree. That's extremely risky. If it's only phone calls you'd probably be okay, assuming you make plenty of other calls and it would get lost in a sea of call logs, but texts are more readily seen.
