I saw someone bring up legalization on another thread, and I did not want to hijack it.
So I put this poll instead.

I say decriminalization is MUCH better. The DAs should just leave it alone and free up the cops to go after violent street criminals.
Also, the girls/orgs should be made aware that they can call the cops on violent clients and thieves with no fear of charges against themselves.

Legalization will bring licensing, fees, taxes, etc..
Their would most likely be a very high sin tax, like on cigarettes.
College age girls and touring girls from foreign countries will not want to be known as licensed prostitutes, so they will stay out of the business.
What we'd be left with are very expensive (because of all the fees and taxes) "milfs" that are professional "happy hooker" types. Blech!

Govt f**ks up everything it touches.
IMO, it would RUIN this industry.

I say Legalization as then you can make sure it is not forced. Also if something goes wrong you can get help where as the other ways you make be afraid to call the cops.

So there are many problems with legalization, which you already mentioned. Taxes, fees, insurance, OSHA, EPA, and so on. The benefits to legalization are a standard regime of licensing which means proper training, and I would assume medical as well.

For decriminalization you get all the good without the bad, so of course who wouldn't want this? But the thing with decriminalization is that it's temporary, at the whim of any executive, not the legislature or the people. A governor or county commissioner can decide she doesn't like AMPs, and will use "human trafficking" as a cudgel to get enough support that she doesn't get pitchfork and torched by her own backers, and then the handshake agreement of decriminalization is over. Ok then we're back where we started? We might be, but the AMPs aren't. If it's decriminalized, of course on day 1 stores will come out of the woodwork, and it's possible the market gets oversaturated, and new entrants who might have been afraid of the law can now offer services or pricing that push out our old reliable places. Then when the decriminalization is removed, these disappear, and we are left with a wasteland of nothing. Imagine if a chain like Hand and Stone with all its stores and revenue stream and financial backing took to the decriminalization and started offering HE or even FS, with young white girls, young white or black milfs, economies of scale driving prices down, will destroy places that may require the current pricing structure to stay viable.

Legalization would actually be the best scheme, because then it's permanent (or at least requires an entire campaign to change the law back), and provides stability for providers. If we look at the experience of chain therapeutic places like Hand and Stone, they are doing just fine alongside AMPS and alongside smaller non-chain therapeutic only places. They have regulation, and I never hear about anyone hating those regs. Sure government regs are a problem for everyone, try running a chemical plant and you will understand what it's like to be at war with your own government every minute of every day, who is standing in the way of you trying to employ a few hundred people and pay for all the layabouts in town to get free stuff via your massive tax "donations". But if carefully constructed, I don't see why a basic structure similar to that employed already for non-HE places wouldn't work. Medical certification really would be the only thing that would change for them, and even then I don't know that it would be that intrusive. One hour of testing a month really doesn't impact our experience.

There is no way the young Japanese girls who are touring now would apply for a "hooker visa".
They're too ashamed to even visit doctors even when they suspect they may have "gotten something" -- at least from what comments by guys here have stated.

Same goes for the Ukrainian girls we may get when that war is over. Girls under 25 are not going to apply for hooker visas & licenses.
"Legalization" will ruin the business.

All just IMO of course...

If it gets legalized then it will be just like buying weed. You can go to a licensed place and pay top dollar plus taxes for a girl who gets tested weekly and does everything covered OR you can buy on the street for a lot cheaper with less restrictions and quality control (the way it is now anyway)

Legalize it and we’ll all have to check in at the front desk similar to a visit to a doctor’s office, shit we may even have to provide health screening, fook waiting in the lobby for your name or number “John Doe, your up next, please proceed to room number 1.”

Not sure if it would work like that

"and does everything covered". Reason enough to reject the idea out of hand lol

OK. Do they have 18 y/o girls there, then?
Admittedly my friend has a young college aged daughter, and I suppose he would have issues talking about the availability of girls that age...
I’m not sure about 18yo but Amsterdam and Germany definitely have SW in their 20s but the price is higher - 200 euros starting price last month and lots of upsell. Most seem to work in agencies and just a few as indys. Ex: https://www.eurogirlsescort.com/esc...ter[age][0]=1&profile-filter-filter[age][1]=2

Decriminalization is not a solution, it is a band aide. If you elect some psycho feminist who understands the power of the pussy, she can criminalize it with zero repercussions overnight.

Legalize it. Will there be a thriving legitimate sex industry, absolutely. Will there still be sugar babies, agencies, AMPS, and avenues for women to sell their goods without a license? ABSOLUTELY. They will continue breaking the law but it will not be breaking the law as a sex worker but breaking the law for violating an ordinance or avoiding taxes which is not nearly as threatening.
I want it legal so I can pull into an establishment while returning from a vacation with my SO. I will have her wait in the car while I bust a nut. When I walk out with a smile on my face and she is pissed as hell, I can smile again and say I have been wanting to get fucked the entire week and since you no longer are interested in it, I have the legal right to walk in that building and fuck a complete stranger.

For all you young and single guys reading this, when you are married to a senior citizen, those middle aged hookers that are at least one generation below me look pretty F____ing good!!!!
