A sting operation targeting those who patronize sex workers conducted in Cumberland County recently resulted in the arrest of nine suspects, State Police said Friday.
The operation was conducted by the State Police Carlisle Criminal Investigation Unit, along with members of the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office CID Unit.
As part of the effort, female officers posing as sex workers placed ads on various internet sites offering to perform sex acts in exchange for money, according to police.

Nine men are accused of agreeing to pay for sex acts, police said. They are all being charged with one count of prostitution (a third-degree misdemeanor) and related offenses.

There was a similar sting in April. https://www.fox43.com/article/news/...ting/521-c92bace1-5c67-4aac-a7d7-b749256d8975

I looked up one of the guys who was charged, and his docket sheet showed "Withdrawn" under "Disposition". So charges were dropped within 8 days of the news report.
Charges were dropped, but the damage was already done for that guy, name and face pic released before the case gets to court and you won't find any articles on dropped charges. Poor guy

That's true, for sure. But it made me wonder if they make these arrests with any intention of pursuing the cases, or if embarrassment and fear is the only goal.

Safest to stick with the known - actual AMPs you’ve heard of. Ignore/avoid the ads that don’t have a location, provide a hotel address, or promise things too out-of-the-norm to be true. Bbfs = b-bull fucking shit.
Are you saying to steer clear from the ads with hotel addresses? I have been seeing a lot lately. If so, why?

From the news article Spa1123 linked in his 7/7 message about the April bust.... LE posted fake ads offering to meet at a local hotel, busted guys who contacted them and agreed on services for $.

I’ve seen recent ads to meet at hotels in Cumberland county and Dauphin county, “Harrisbury”, even one to meet at the YWCA. All suspicious, imo. Of course, i can’t say that some aren’t real traveling girls offering a great massage; but mongers should proceed with the utmost caution. Personally, i avoid them completely. I only use those ads to learn about new-to-me AMPs, then do so additional digging (often here) to find out if it’s legit. We already know all the pics are fakes.... lots of other stuff is, too.
