Exactly what I just finished doing.
Without a doubt,this pandemic put many things in perspective for me.
No mongering since shit got real (ok,a quick handie at an amp in Ft Lauderdale when I was on vacation the week before last.)
NY Governor deemed construction workers (me,driving construction related materials,union) "essential" ,but I understood that to be "expendable"- so I opted out, called HR and took a leave of absence "until they figure this shit out". Wife is working from home,we'll be at each other's throats by Wednesday, but she's diabetic and I cannot bring this thing into our home due to my negligence or greed. The same people telling me to work said the same thing during 9/11, "the air is safe".
I'm no economist, but while a 75% pay cut won't be good- losing my life would be worse.
