If you really believe that COVID-19 is like any other than please explain why the entire world is shutting down, unemployment is going through the roof and the market crashed 30% in two weeks.

This is a world health crisis and the sooner everybody understands that and acts responibily, the sooner we can get back tour favorite spas.

On a lighter note, I was at that show. As expected, it was a scene more than a great show. That was a great place and a great time for Rock n Roll.

People believe a lot of bull on a mass level.......they think fortune cookies are chinese, coffee is made from beans, the earth is flat, people with mental illness were witches, mt everest is the tallest mountain, the earth revolves around the sun. tons of bullshit out there.

I think a lot of the locals will head to states with lower cases of Covid and less restrictions. There may be opportunities for them in places like North Carolina...or Mississippi. Even Wyoming for f-ck sake. Then they will come back.

Exactly what I just finished doing.
Without a doubt,this pandemic put many things in perspective for me.
No mongering since shit got real (ok,a quick handie at an amp in Ft Lauderdale when I was on vacation the week before last.)
NY Governor deemed construction workers (me,driving construction related materials,union) "essential" ,but I understood that to be "expendable"- so I opted out, called HR and took a leave of absence "until they figure this shit out". Wife is working from home,we'll be at each other's throats by Wednesday, but she's diabetic and I cannot bring this thing into our home due to my negligence or greed. The same people telling me to work said the same thing during 9/11, "the air is safe".
I'm no economist, but while a 75% pay cut won't be good- losing my life would be worse.
Please be safe,guys.
Times of turmoil such as this defines one's character...

Exactly. In times like this Women tend to instinctively rely on a Man to protect them if they are Married and or in a serious relationship.

This might be from years ago when Man would protect Women from predators and or times of lack of food etc.

Stay safe. I haveny visited my Parents in almost 1 mo and wont for several more.

This happens often in history and choosing to ignore this possibility does not make it a black swan event.

You could describe the internet as an economic black swan. No one in history has seen an invention create such wealth and power.

To be clear, this is not a political comment. This is a policy comment. The governments job is to maintain stability and consistency in the system. Failure to do so is the failure of government and whoever operates it. If they are able to achieve direct cash stimulus to the population in mass then it will stem the bleeding in the economy and likely shorten the recovery but it is far to late to expect anything other than a recession. The only question is how we manage the severity of the recession.
