I hope you hobbyists are paying attention to people pushing “Contact Tracing”. If the control freaks get their way, life as we knew it is over. Biden suggested recruiting tens of thousands “young people” to join an army of tracers. Try to envision a snippy self-righteous millennial at your bedside reviewing your phone bill with pages of ping records. Don’t laugh. You’ll be driving around with your cell phone in a lead case while politicians will be clamping down on burn phones. Even mistresses will be smoked out. There will be headlines stating the enormity of the hobby. Then the Feminists will get behind tracing 100%. The industry will disappear as bitchy wives gain even more leverage. How’s that sound?

Preposterous. Wouldn't happen as you describe.

Not saying im for it. However as many here do. You are focusing on hobbying. I dont think they would be so admant about people not seeing pros.

I don't think it will happen either, but then again, we are living in crazy times, so who knows?
I had to give him a +1 though, as the "snippy millennial" part made me lolz. :)

I have a burner phone that I refill with monthly cash card.
Assigned to a fake email of course. Locked away in some place other than my house. I don't know how this will affect that.

So there will be automatic redaction on “pro’s phone numbers”? Then the wife says “Let me see the report. Joy Behar said redacted numbers belong to prostitutes”. The problem is government programs morph and expand. There is telling where it would go but you can bet it will strike fear into the hearts of all those miserable married men. For the record I bought an early release from the suburban marriage prison farm years ago

You never know. They relentlessly go after guns. It’s a known fact that burners are a common tool of the drug dealers. A couple of headlines and some cooperation among a few factions and anything can happen

What my point is Contact Tracing probably won’t do much to reduce infection from a relentless series of viruses but it will change behavior. You can find ways to outsmart your wife but it gets dicey if you think a guy with a badge and a stack of documents may suddenly appear. You are on probation the second you’re caught in a lie. Politicians love tracing because it makes constituents more fearful and predictable. They’ll save millions on campaign funding. A politician’s wet dream is a world where they pander to women while men are either seeking forgiveness from their wives or out of fear assuming compliance is their only option

Check out the Ken Burns documentary on Prohibition. Women’s groups joined forces with religious groups to create a legislative disaster

Whatever freedoms we give up we're likely never to get back. There will always be a new bogeyman du jour, for years it was osama bin hidin, now it's a virus. Next it will be something where we'll all be getting chips implanted....for our safety of course. Too many sheeple and not enough pushback from outraged citizens

You hit on a very valid point; buy all the "burner" phones that you can. We can expect that they will be regulated out of existence.

People don’t get it. This industry is enormous and it’s come to the attention of groups who want it ended. The Bob Kraft incident was the warning shot. Not only did they target a high profile guy for national headlines they threw in threats of human trafficking charges that never went anywhere but they knew it wouldn’t. Politicians never let a crisis go to waste. Contact Tracing would be a gift that would keep on giving. Just sayin

I agree we can't allow th to keep taking our liberties. The patriot act was well carried out and infringed on our liberties for sure.

This sheeple comment though is sterotypical Joe Rogan, Alex infowars talk :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Here’s a thought. You have to hire an attorney because you’ve been charged with lying to a twerpy contract tracer whose word is golden in a courtroom. Try doing this without the wife finding out

One of the first things you learn is if there isn’t a crisis, create one. That ensures you get the changes you want.

Attribute it to whom ever you want. There is still the fact that people seem passive about a significant intrusion into our private lives. BTW from what I understand the Bill of Rights doesn’t actually guarantee a right to privacy. It’s “implied” according to Justice William O Douglas who was cleverly laying the groundwork for Roe v Wade. The times they are a changin
