Cleanliness in the COVID age

Okay, I am not a clean freak but I am turning into a germaphobe.
I travel frequently and, in recent months, have been to AMPs in San Francisco, New York, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale and Lancaster, PA.
I have noticed that the provider has been in a big rush to clean up the room after my massage. Now, when I say clean, I'm using this term loosely.
What has really turned my stomach is the fact that afterward, table sheets are not removed and washed. They are smoothed out and kept in place for the next customer.
The towel that I just had my drooling mouth and snotty nose in was picked up and neatly folded and put back in place for the next customer.
I have seen this from every AMP that I have been to recently with the exception of my regular in Lancaster, PA.
Considering COVID, I would think that they would be obsessed with keeping their rooms as clean as possible. They make me wear my mask on the flip as they are making me happy all over those same sheets.
I stand up and they move in to smooth out the sheets for the next customer.
The last time was it for me. I need a break. I even commented to her about reusing the linen and she shrugged it off. She didn't care.
Am I making too big a deal out of this. Anybody else hurling after reading this? Or do you just rush out and block it from your mind?

You aren’t making too big a deal of it. It was annoying before COVID, it’s life threatening now. For the most part, the spas I go to have totally upgraded their game. My favorite current spa has vinyl tables they spray down and disinfect, fresh towels, no robes , no sandals. They crank the hot water on full and spray down the TS before they let you on it. But I was in another spa a couple weeks ago where it was same old routine. She’s straightening out the sheets and folding the used towels, while I’m getting dressed. You’d think the ladies would wise up, and instead of cleaning the room while I’m there, they’d help me get dressed faster and out the door faster, then clean. I’m certainly not returning after watching their cleaning process.

I remember the FS spas I used to hit in Center City, Philadelphia.

A little scary now that I think about them.

Then again, if you survived these places, most diseases and viruses are pushovers.

I was thinking of a few spas I have visited where the walls and floors were so sticky you had to work to get out of the room.

Chances are, the virus is getting stuck to those surfaces and keeping us safe!!!!

I understand what you are talking about and have suspected the same thing. If all they are doing it changing the liner for the face hole...that is not enough. Everything should be changed. One time pre covid I requested that she change the coverings before I got on them...she did it and did not seem to be upset at the request.

It's like being in a couple of American Legion and Elks Club bars I've been to.

One time pre covid I requested that she change the coverings before I got on them...she did it and did not seem to be upset at the request.

I haven’t been using the face hole since this started. I just have them cover it with a towel and tilt my head to a side. The massage isn’t as good, but I feel safer.

I never take my mask off, no snot or drool lands on towels or pillows, just my mask. After I leave, take off the mask, put on a fresh one.

A couple shops I go to, put a fresh mask on you when you walk in the door and throw your old one out. then they give you another fresh one when you leave. The one girl makes a big show out of it. "I only do this for you", she says, as she bypasses the regular paper masks, and pulls out a KN95 mask from the hutch.

That is good. I have only gone to a few shops post lockdown and none of them did that with the masks. You must be special if they are breaking out the KN95's for you! I know all of the shops that I have been to in central PA pre and post covid do not to have vinyl covered tables so they are not able to wipe it down with a dissinfectant...that makes changing out the cloth sheets all the more important. You mentioned that your current favorite place has vinyl covered tables...was that a change they made post covid or did they always have them?

I'm pretty sure it was post covid. Not 100% sure because all i ever saw before was a sheet covered table that i can remember. But first time I went in after they reopened, the difference was very noticeable. the tables are just bare vinyl when you walk in the room. they bring in 2 folded fresh towels from a laundry in the back. one for the table, one for you. they have nothing else for linens in the room, except the hot towels, which are in a heated machine in the room. The old pillow is gone and it is replaced with a matching (to the vinyl table) bolster.

I'm not special, if you missed my sarcasm. I'm just a weekly steady, tipping customer. I dont think the masks are that expensive if you get them in bulk from china, along with the condoms and gloves.
