Mr. Cacaface, yup, it is the dollar dance bars located on Roosevelt Ave in queens ny. Queens has hundreds of them. They cater to the day laborer, working neighborhood guy. You need to be able to communicate with them in spanish. does not have to be perfect, trust me. If you are going alone and are a white dude or not hispanic, be very careful. I would always go with my ecuadorian buddy.
This is how it works, the lady who works at the bar is like a waitress, except that she sits down with you while you drink. She keeps you company. You order the drinks from her, she goes to the bar and brings you the beverage. she'll offer to dance with you for a fee, of course.
how does she make money? she is the middle man. you order a corona, she pays the bar 4 bucks she sells it to you for 7. she keeps the 3 plus the tip. the dance is extra. she usually keeps that money for herself. the more you drink the more the bar makes. usually you pay cash as you drink and dance. If the girl knows you and you have a relationship, she'll open a tab for you, including the dance. lol
BTW, dancing is dancing, no code for any other activity.
how do the girls look? hit or miss, all ages, all looks. tend to be neighborhood girls.
In my younger years, mid 90's i hooked up with a few beautiful dominicanas. Any hook up happens outside the establishment. For most of the girls working at the bar the work was for extra money. a side hustle.
I have not patronize one in 10 plus years. however i see them all over corona, roosevelt. have seen some in newark. best is to walk in late, after 9 pm and scope the location. bars all are legit, meaning liquor license, permits, fire exits etc.
why? because LE pays them a lot of attention. most have bouncers to keep peace and throw out drunk dude who thought he was going to score with girl after spending his whole paycheck with her
Fridays on pay day tend to be very busy. I used to go wed and thu
as mentioned, had success with some ladies outside the establishment. you have to work on them.
i had tons of fun with the ladies. would always go with buddies.
thank you for bringing back memories of good times.
as always YMMV, stay safe.
