Burner phone?

At what point do you get a burner phone? I have two providers that I text with and don't want to lose track of. They worked at popular places that that had closed but I found them again. We don't text a lot and I'm pretty diligent about deleting the messages. But lately more have been coming into the picture and some activities happening outside of AMPs have been planned. Mostly stuff that doesn't involve the hobby (i.e exercise, shooting). What point did you decide to get a burner phone (if you have one)?

I had a Trac Phone for years and same number. Just did not want to give out my real cell to providers, AMPs, selling shit on craigslist, etc Unfortunately Trac Phone eliminated 3G support earlier this year so my phone would no longer work, I had lost access to my account and couldn't transfer my number to a new phone. I use Talkatone app now, its free so dont need to worry about buying minutes for a burner any longer

some like apps but I prefer a secondary phone apart from my main cell - I don't really trust apps and my main cell is work / personal etc. so this just works better for my personal piece of mind. Paid a year up front for more than enough minutes so never have to worry about refilling it etc. It's also 5G now like any other carrier
