Burner Phone Recommendations

Looking to get a burner phone with a bare minimal plan as it will only be used for mongering.

A lot of the plans have a ridiculous service fee that needs to be paid per month and it is overkill for what I need. I don't anticipate myself doing anything more than calling/texting for lineups/appointments and getting verified into an org.

It would also be a plus if the service did not deactivate my number if there are still prepaid minutes/data but I might have to live with dealing with the service fee. Also looking to purchase this in store with cash.

Any suggestions as to what plan and phone to get? Is it worth getting a cheap burner smartphone with data or does a basic flip phone suffice? What do you guys use? Appreciate your input and experience!

Tracfone, if you have an old 'smartphone' around you should factory reset and use the tracfone sim on it. A few years ago I'd recommend a flip but nowadays it's almost necessary to have at least an old gen 'smartphone' to send and receive pictures

Tracfone, and buy $20 "60 minute" plain (not "smartphone") cards; they work for smartphones too. 90 days service, so you pay $80 for a year. Worked especially well when they sold phones that tripled those minutes for life ... not now though. Minutes carry over. Be sure to get the next 90 days on time so you don't lose that.

$5/month is a great deal. Did you keep your old T-Mobile number? Or did you notify the orgs of your new number?

Anybody have any problems using apps? I recently tried the burner app and it seems to work fine. It's $5 a month. I'm just wondering if there's some security reason I shouldn't use it?

If you prefer not having to hide a burner phone, a dual sim smartphone is an option. Just disable the hobby sim when you are not using it.

Hello Mobile $5 looks like a great deal. I got Ting Mobile for my invalid Mother. Popped the SIM into her old flip phone. Disabled data in phone & plan. $10 + taxes (11.91), unlimited call/text.

Won't your text messages still be on the phone with dual SIMs? Have to be very careful to delete in case the SO goes through it.

I use Google Voice app on my iPhone for messages. Then delete the message thread after. Is that a bad idea?

I used to do it that way but there're circumstances where you may forgot to delete or sometimes they spam you.......also it's still trouble if any girl is texting you. I much prefer a real phone, noone will suspect just different phone lying around(I have many LOLs)......also some apps are known to be unreliable, many times I lost the 30-40 days period so the number is taken by someone else.

I also have a habit not to bring everything that's connected/tracked to me to the session (wallet,cell,apple watch), total anonymous visit. only car keys even car keys sometimes I wanna hide it somewhere..... I always suspect if there's someone stole my phone during the session LOL....with the other number I'm virtually invisible.
