I’ve been using the burner app for a while and it’s pretty good at covering your tracks. However, I recently realized that every time I purchase more credits (which you need for more time/

Sorry it cut me off. Every time I purchase more credits there is a permanent record of the transaction in my apple account’s purchases section. It’s unlikely this will cause problems but wouldn’t be the best look with SO if it came up. Can anyone suggest an alternative? I would rather not have a permanent record that I’ve been using a burner phone number. I had a trakphone from rite aid years ago, are those still a thing?

If the OP's issue is potentially being caught paying for a burner app on his Apple bill, then being caught with a physical burner phone is 10x worse IMO

I've been using the Sudo app with good results...
Fair point! Could always stash it at the office...or say it's a new work phone that the company issued? Personally, I had actual phone trouble early in the pandemic when phone stores were closed and had no choice but to buy a burner phone to tide me over for 3-4 days while my new phone was shipped...so I have a solid reason for the burner phone that sits in a box at home.

I’m considering an office stash although this means I won’t have access to it on weekends. I’ll also check out Sudo. 2ndline is avail for apple as well. Thanks to everyone who replied.

Separate question. Many providers in their ads say that they will not respond to blocked or burner app numbers.

I texted 2 providers 2 days ago using the Sudo app but didn’t hear back… I wonder if providers are able to check that my number is from a burner app (MySudo) and this is the reason they didn’t respond, or, if they just were busy/forgot to respond. (I know it’s relatively easy to confirm a Google Voice number…)
