ZUM ZUM a German style counter service in Manhattan. Used to order their bratwurst platter


There used to be a Zum Zum in the Lobby of the Empire State Building!

- another cheap Chinese restaurant (forget the name) that was on the 2nd floor of a Pearl St. building a few addresses down but on the opposite side of the street from the Kilarney Rose bar. It may have been called "Ho's" (not kidding!), but I am not 100% sure.

I remember that place, used to work on Beaver St (LOL) - a lot of dodgy places in that area in the 80s. One was the Kansas City Meat Exchange on Beaver St closer to Broadway. The grill was at the entrance and the "cook" could be seen in the front window, tasting customer food before it was served. Good times!
