last two times I went I got athletes foot; two different spas. Now as soon as I get home, I cover feet with appropriate spray. How many of you get it and how many of you bring own shower slippers?

I've had athlete's foot since playing football in HS. My feet sweat a lot. I use clotrimazole on a regular basis to keep it at bay. I am not sure how contagious it really is because I am the only one in my house of 6 that has it. Same goes for when I was living with my parents and siblings when I was in HS. Therefore, I can't see how easy it would be for someone to get it at a spa twice. I'm not saying that you didn't get at a spa, I'm just saying that it is not as easily spread as people believe. At least in my case.

I don't think it's really contagious, if at all. I have it right now and I have been to a few amps really but I also know my feet sweat easily and my shoes don't exactly leave me with a lot of room for feet to breathe.

Many years ago I had a rash on and around my balls. Went to doctor and she took a quick look and then asked to see my feet. Yup same rash, athlete’s foot fungus spread from showering and toweling dry.
Also dry your feet last.

You also get it from having sweaty balls! My brother used to deal with that. It is called jock itch. It happens a lot to those that play organized sports. I'll take athlete's foot any day over that. Same medicine treats both. Oh, ringworm is also in the same family of fungi. I learned that one after having kids.

I am aware that jock itch and athletes' foot are the same fungus and treated with the same spray.
Does anyone wear their own shower sandles at the spas?

I avoid putting my feet in those nasty slippers. I've yet to see anyone clean them or replace them with a new pair. They simply get tucked back in to the space where they were before.

This is why I shower before and leave my socks on unless I know the amp and provider very well. And what’s with offering funky sandals and slippers to walk around in anyway no one wants to use what others wore.

Unfortunately, this is a subject I am well versed on, learning the hard way in my early monger years. Early morning visits are best if you are going to risk house slippers. Some places like spa 27 have Lysol spray you can douse the slippers with if you want to give that a try. The best thing you can do is bring your own sandals. If you go to the gym, having a gym bag makes everything easier. You have all of the products you need to come home smelling the way you left. Just remember if you go later in the day, you should “hit the gym” on the way home, otherwise your freshly showered self is a dead giveaway.

Also remember, that if you are going to introduce a gym bag into your routine, it has to be part of a long game involving more gym usage or sign up. This has to be introduced over time as major routine changes give even trusting SOs pause. Guys get caught all the time because they don’t know how to be subtle…don’t be that guy. Good Luck!
