The problem is, when it is a reference to what someone else said, it is difficult to discuss it with the original speaker.
I have talked with Flat Earthers, walked them through simple proofs that the ancient Greeks and ancient sailors could see. No effect with most of them--they say it is all a conspiracy of almost everyone who has lived in recorded history. I even took one woman to the dock and we watched as the hull of the ship disappeared over the horizon before the mast, which wouldn't happen if it was flat.
Same with the black helo/microwave brain suckers. Explain the physics, explain the size of the conspiracy that would have to exist. Asked the simple question: Why would the Illuminati (or whomever) want to kill off all the people who actually do the work? No answers other than "They are!", or point me to the recent U Tube rant.
Then there are the anti-vaccine nuts, almost all of whom believe a sting of lies back to one researcher's paper--uncorroborated, and the author has since come out and said his paper was completely fraudulent. Sho data about deaths before vaccines, and after. It does no good, they KNOW vaccines are a sinister plot to kill them all.
So no, I have little patience with most of them.
