There's an interesting aspect to this hobby that I'll put in the context of a historical review I read once about Lyndon Johnson. He was considered a competitive womanizer, to wit: "When people mentioned Kennedy's many affairs, Johnson would bang the table and declare that he had more women by accident than Kennedy ever had on purpose."
Besides providing valuable intel to our fellow mongers, this place also gives us a place to crow a bit about our exploits, some more than others in ways that you can see by how reviews are written. You can brag to your gym buddies about scoring with someone you met at a bar, but you can't really brag about this stuff, except to other people who do it.
Additionally, in the competitive womanizing context, one way to do better at the game is to discourage others from playing it. Not that anyone here would be doing that, of course.
