It is not decriminalized yet you will still be arrested but its up to D.A to drop your case, end of the day you will have a record that says your arrested but it will be sealed incase you get a job that wants to do a background check

Manhattan has had Democrat DAs for the last 30 years, and crime has decreased by over 50%. New York City has had democrat mayors for over 20 years and crime has fallen so much that New York is the safest large city in North America.

Sex work should be decriminalized.

Crime has shot up exponentially over the last two years especially because of the bail reform. And the murder rate started going up again in DeBozos second term. More people getting shoved into train tracks especially this year. Slashing a hate crimes against Asian women and elderly. The city is going to shit like all the other big blue cities

Cities are more often than not “blue” so if you’re blaming the issues that will intrinsically be tied to cities as being caused by “blueness” you’re being in-genuine. It would be like tying problems intrinsic to rural area such as meth/opioid abuse, incest/child abused & low maternal health rates to their “redness”. The country has to stop this partisan childlike bickering.

Not to mention that surrounding suburbs of major cities are pretty blue with much lower levels of crime.

This country is so entrenched in blue vs. red, it’s disgusting. Collectively the country is hoping for failure so they can blame the other side rather than mutual benefit. Politics to far too many people has become a sporting event where they become partisan, non-thinking fans of team instead of looking for common solutions to universal problems. BTW- Merry Christmas .

… and yes, it’s a good thing that ppl hopefully won’t be prosecuted or persecuted for prostitution and yes, hopefully serious criminals will stay in jail when they commit violent crimes.

I dont think this is even rhetorically accurate, let alone mathematically (unless the exponent is significantly less than two). Is crime up compared to 2019? Yes (generally although there are exceptions). Are we back to the days of even the later Bloomberg administration? No.
Anyway I hace no data either way on whether johns are being arrested or not under cureent policies. But please don't hijack a thoughtful question about whether fhe DA actually has followed through (on what most here would agree would be a sensible decriminalization) with tired exaggerations.

DeBlasio was the first Democratic mayor since Dinkins, actually.
And under him the NYPD was defunded, the undercover gang squads disbanded, stop-and-frisk ended and violent crime rose more sharply than at any time in recorded history.
This pattern has replicated itself in large cities throughout the country.

Again, all this is knee jerk reactive ax grinding that has absolutely zero to do with the original topic in question.

Bragg won’t decriminalize prostitution, I mean look at them they arrested a bunch of the AMP owners and shut a few down. So much for that promise. It won’t happen because it will open up another can of worms and as much as people like to say make it legal, none of them want their kids or relatives to get into it

So you, as a “hobbiest”, have no desire to see movement on this issue? You’d prefer ignoring the discussion all off just so you can vocalize your displeasure in the individual’s party who may potentially change how this “crime” is handled? People really aren’t interested in making positive changes , solely interested in trolling the opposition…. Sad.

I just want to see criminals put in jail. And high cash bail.
Can't afford bail ? Don't commit the crime .
Don't want to be in overcrowded prisons ? Don't commit the crime.
Don't want to get arrested for prostitution ? Get a SB .
Any more questions ?

None of those were the original question so your answers are irrelevant and unasked for.
