Willow Grove is the proper name for the town and much of the area surrounding the town, even though the town is part of Horsham Township. The Naval Air Base got it's name from the town not the other way around. I'm old enough to have ridden the Thunderbolt (roller coaster) at Willow Grove Amusement Park back in the 1960's where the mall sits today.

small world...I seem to recall that a good friend of my folks owned the wooden roller coaster there...thought it was called the "Wild Mouse", or something like that...maybe a different park?

Yes, they had a scary small two seat roller coaster call "The Wild Mouse". It always felt like it was going to tip over and fall off the track when it went around the tight curves too fast. But that is part of the fun. The Thunderbolt was full size and made of wood,

Ok, I feel a little awkward... does it make me a bad person that I’m pushing 51 and being in the hobby for 33 years? ( not proud) but maybe kinda?
