I see the logic, but I am curious about the math. The longer session brings with it a higher session fee, so they should be paid more for a longer session irrespective of tips, presuming they get a percentage of the house fee. If they do not get a higher portion of the house fee, then that is the issue to me. The house or mamasan or whoever decides that would be sticking the girls with an unreasonable and inequitable split. Restaurant servers are a good comparison because I'd bet most massage girls make more than most servers, likely for less work, and I'm sure my 20-something server trying to pay off her crushing debt would enjoy watching movies in between tables the way some of the massage girls seem to be doing between clients. If you as a client want to tip them more for a longer session, or for any reason at all, you're a mensch, but I don't think that necessarily means people who want to tip the standard are shorting these girls. Big picture I think both compensation structures are friendly to the employers, and not so friendly for the employees or the customers.
I'd say you were very generous to do that considering her mood-killing negotiation style. I hate hate HATE when they do that, but I respect their hustle, and I also learned through sad experience that stonewalling them on price, while potentially effective, usually results in a forgettable HE experience. I attempt to get around this (and fail rather often) by only bringing what I am willing to drop tip wise. 'This is all I have left' usually gets them to agree, and to be happy about it, and I like to think they enjoy their work enough to feel validated when we leave with empty balls and empty wallets.
That's what most websites of legit amps suggest ... to tip 15-20%.,, and I have heard many women confirm that is what they tip.
With amps its a complete different thing and the standard tipping is to be honored. I am sure op got very good service that deserved the nice tip which is great, after all it is about how well they treated you!

Remember restaurant servers are usually working a few tables at a time. Their hourly tips are not based on just your small tip. Imagine if your masseuse was going back and forth rubbing several customers while you were there?
For legit TM, I would say at least 20 fir 60 minutes and 30 for 90. That's not going to break the bank is it?

Guess I'll have to take that bet. Your quote "most massage girls make more money for less work." These girls work 11 hour shifts( 10-9) and they average 4 clients per day. So at a gracious 20% they make $48 for the day. They have hands on your body for a full 60 minutes. You never see you server for 60 minutes because they are working 4 tables. Take an order, bring the food, bring the check wow 15 minutes. Your server makes more in two hours and works half the hours. Times yours!
You're right. Under the scenario you are describing, a massage girl would make less money for more skilled and more labor intensive work. In the scenario I was describing, I was assuming a massage girl and tip structure like most r and t places. Tips in the .4 to .6 range at those places would put her daily take at 1.6 to 2.4, assuming 4 clients getting basic extras. I honestly don't know how that compares to what a waitress makes in her shifts, but I think it is pretty good for 4 hours a days. But what do I know maybe I am just defensive because I'm broke and only tip .40 for basic services.
